      It depends if other clubs have more money to buy talent and step up a march on us. It's all relative, it's not down to Rafa alone. Do you really think that spending £ 20 million pound net will make us an unbeatable team in an instant.

      It takes time and it's a progressive thing. Expectations are always high but we have to take a back seat and let people get along with their work.

        Not on its own. I mean, we could finish third with the same points tally as the Champions but with fewer goals scored so I'd have thought it's got to depend on how close we are rather than position per se.

          A lot of people seem to be working on the assumption that we'll come on stronger in the second half of the season, as we've done in the last 2.

          Right now I'd settle for us still being in legit contention at the beginning of April. That would be progress.

            i want to see his masterplan come to fruition, i want to see him for at least another 5 years, I want the crop of youngsters, His youngsters work under the new regime. Getting rid of Rafa would be nuts, specially as he has only just taken interest in the academy. Scum were proven right to give ferguson 6/7 years.

            Ok he has made mistakes but who hasnt, he has percieved with kuyt to much , yes he probably has....but then who knows what crouch did wrong in the first place!!

                Currently 6 points behind last years champions with a game in hand, which is a home game against West Ham and we've not even hit top form yet. Coupled with the fact that since the season has started we've had injuries to- Carra, Alonso, Gerrard, Agger, Kewell(giggle), Torres, Finnan, Arbeloa, Aurellio, Pennant and Bennayoun (have i missed anyone). Would there not be the very slightest argument that perhaps this is why we lost momentum in the league and also why so many players suddenly developed a dip in form?

                Perhaps instead of coming on internet forums and picking holes in Rafa's credentials we should actually support him and the players when their backs are against the wall. It would appear that the words to YNWA is given mere lip service to by the modern 'Supporter' and mean **** all to some people.

                  We can conjure up possible scenarios endlessly. It's all hypothetical though.

                  Fredo's right in saying it's a qualitative thing to some extent and I agree with Charlie Manson about being in contention come April.
