Well, that was a bit simplified.Originally posted by Elvis View PostSo after winning the Premier League last season, Yernited, who had a big squad, just sat back and said - we've got a big squad and we've just won the league, no need to buy anyone new, let's knuckle down and just do it again............er........
Considering the increased cost of the stadium, and if we don't advance in the CL, I can understand the owners are worried about finance. The stadium must come first, although both woudl be nice.
Sure, we could do with a centreback, if not, Hobbs will have to fill in.
It is not the end of the world.
United had to start preparing for Scholes and Giggs' departure, regardless on if the were champs, which they did when they signed Nani and Anderson.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

That is a major worry.Originally posted by Elvis View PostWhat is at issue here is what Rafa's job is. Just coaching, or also controlling activities in the transfer market, the youth set-up etc. If they want to clip hsi wings he'll walk and we'll get another manager who will want to spend big. big money building "his team". And the wait will go on.
Cause that would take a lot of time and cost millions.
Xabi, Torres and Reina would probably also leave.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

As big a fan of Rafa as i'am i agree with this sentiment totally. We have a team capable of challenging for the title already, i was happy with our summer signings and it's now down to Rafa to get the best from the team until he has the funds to improve it. It is after all what he's paid very well for.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostCorrect.
Do his ****ing job.

No, only Kuyt.Originally posted by fredo View PostYep, and wasn't it you who was calling for Voronin & Kuyt's head and shipping them out ? Come mate, it's time to be consistent in what you say.
If Rafa thinks there is **** all communications with the americans, he obviously will try to manipulate the media to gain what he wants. It's all part and parcel of the game. It's not ideal and it's fecking detrimental to our club but we have to give our manager some support. We're not politicians and we don't give a **** to what's happening in the upper echelons of the boardroom. We're only interested in football and seeing our team going forward and the americans should devise a strategy to back that up, short term and long term.
My point about this being his squad still stands. He feels he needs more players in January because lets face it some of his signings haven't panned out.
He needs to get results between now and January with this current bunch before the yanks can really justify opening the vault.
Moaning about it in November helps nobody. Really disappointed in Rafa on this one.I hate Polanski

I still think that the situation isn't dramatic and that we have a good squad but it's all about taking one step further and if the opportunity arises, we should be ready to pounce. Football is won in the transfer market these days.Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostNo, only Kuyt.

And the stand off is very worrying. Rafa is no muppet and won't want to be pussyfooted around.
Hopefully reason will prevail and everything will come back to normal.

No it isn't, it's still won on the pitch.Originally posted by fredo View PostFootball is won in the transfer market these days.
How do explain 2005 then? Rafa took a bunch of mostly second raters and Houllier rejects to a European Cup win.
That's what he is capable of doing. But instead of getting on with it he's whinging like a kid who only got an Xbox for Christmas when he wanted a Playstation 3.I hate Polanski

No point slating Hicks. It's a ridiculous press conference by Rafa, acting childish. I agree totally with Hicks and Gillett's statement. Rafa needs to concentrate on winning the upcoming games, not moaning in the press. This happened in the summer too. The new owners have backed the manager big time. Are looking at the new stadium as well.
personally before Rafa shells out £17m on Masch he should look to get rid of Sissoko first.

Just proves you are missing the whole point. He has been told that he should stand down from doing any transfer business AT ALL including sales.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostNo point slating Hicks. If Barratt is correct and Rafa is prepared to balance the books by selling players how is that going to bankrupt us??Originally posted by CharlieMansonsSquint View PostSo every time he has a hissy fit they should give into him should they?
Thank **** we don't have a Peter Risdale character in charge writing cheques for him and "living the dream".Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
