"Sources close to the Americans admit they are concerned with the present climate but hope to see harmony in relations restored quickly."

Well ****ing give rafa a call then, and stop telling everyone about it all.

As has been said before, this sort of disagreement should be dealt with privately.

Yanks - shut the **** up and stop being so loud and American

Rafa - shut the **** up and stop moaning in public.

Parry - get the tea on and bring all parties together for a chat somehow.

But surely Rafa knows the importance of keeping stuff like this in-house? he did it enough in the past when we were skint.

Acting the way he did in the press conference is only going to attract negative stuff.

All this arguing should be kept in-house and sorted out behind closed doors, don't like the sound of the way this is going at all. Plus we don't want to give the press more ammunition. Very strange times

Get on with it at least until January, then see if anything needs changing.

We're in a good position anyway, there's no need for all this.
i think the transfer business starts way earlier than mid december, and rafa being more than a coach, has more to think about than the next few games. telling him to shut up and coach will not help anyone.

you don't need to tell rafa to focus on the game, i think he'll always be ready for the next game, the man is mister focus, but the fact is that he does so much more than coach, the comments almost sound disrespectful towards him and his work...

In fairness though Im with the Yanks on this one. Benitez started the spat by 'going public' and the americans are entitled to do the same.

The Yanks are entitled to treat the matter as a business given their investment and if I had invested 400mil + and at the end of November my team was 6th in the league and on the verge of exiting the Champions League, I'd be waiting until Mid December before discussing any further investment also.

Benitez's frustration is unwarranted IMO as this season has not been a success thus far. (i stress thus far). He cannot therefore expect the owners to be running in his direction with blank cheques.

It is too most of us, but obviously not to Mr. Hicks.

It's becoming more and more apparent that our owners may not be the American Sugar Daddys we hoped for.

They constantly trumpet their big spend this summer but our net spending was similar to previous summers and they seem reluctant to release funds for the January transfer window.

They may have done a lot of good work but it's looking like they're going to be tight with the purse strings.

We can't wait till mid-December though, by then Rafa will have missed the boat for the majority of priority players he wants to bring in, whoever that may be.

I understand they don't want to give out cash to see it squandered, but at least they could talk about the plans for January with Rafa, even if its to work out a number of different scenarios and plans depending on future results

I think if we were higher in the league and not in the precarious CL position then perhaps the finances would be more forthcoming.

I guess that is the end of Rafa as manager then
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Rafa is gonna love this little number.

Hopefully he won't just pack up his bags & fook off.

He doesn't like being undermined though does he?

The way people are talking you'd think we need a massive overhaul in January, we don't.

One, possibly two players will come in (both identified ages ago by Rafa, i agree).

when you think about our net spend being 23m approx and what we have taken in from tv rights champions league final prem league - have the americans actually spent anything???
