I'm not having that mate.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostYes, I'm sure there are plans in place but the plans are multifactorial. What if we lose our next 3 league games and get knocked out of the CL. Then things are different to if we won our next 3 league games but got knocked out of the CL.
What do you want the owners to say to Rafa? Lose the next 3 league games and go out of the CL and you get **** all but win them all and you get 30 million?
How is that useful?
Plans and budgets should be set out at the start of the season and whether we win the next 3 games is totally irrelevant.
How is our manager supposed to plan himself for the Jan transfer window if he has no idea what funds if any are available?
I bet you £100 that Arsenal, United and Chelsea have got this done and dusted a long time ago.
He never knew at the end of last season how much money he had he had to wait for H&G to get back to him.
It's poor management by Hicks and Gillet.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

But the events leading up to those 2 weeks will have their impact also. Like I say, does Rafa want them to say "win your league and CL games and you get 30 million net but lose them and you get zip"? Is that useful to him so he can plan?Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostSure, it's complex, but not insoluble. If you really think this, then I repeat you have no clue about football's business today. Rafa wanted players for this season. They gave him the money to buy them.Originally posted by Pacman View PostRed Chilli.
Surely the Liverpool board should plan for every eventuality? There should be a plan in place if we don't qualify for the last 16 of the CL and there should be a plan if we do, hell there should be a plan if we get relegated. It's seems this is something they haven't done. I can't blame Rafa for wanting to know how much he's got either way. He's pissing in the wind and can't do his job. He wants to improve the squad in Jan yet he has know idea what players he can go after if any. This should all be sorted months before a transfer window as we all know it can take months to sort transfers out. Rafa could be looking at one player but have more money available for someone better and vice versa.
He cant complain 2 months later that they are not supporting him. He looks like a fool making these comments in the press. Thats the reason of their reaction.“If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing.”

Arsenal United and Chavski are not building a new stadium, a stadium for which the costs have spiralled.Originally posted by Pacman View PostI'm not having that mate.

Can't you see that this will impact on all future budgets? It's common sense isn't it?
Are they going to sit down at the start of the season and say, "well if the stadium costs increase by 200 million we'll spend .....". That'd be ludicrous.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Not his choices at all? Can you imagine putting together your personal finanancial plan and going to your employer and asking how much am I going to be paid/week and they said, "i'll let you know later".
You've got kids, you want to start planning what you can get them for christmas, you ask your employer about your income, they tell you, "we'll be there christman eve". **** the shops will be sold out, all the best deals will have already been done.
Am I going to let these feckers ruin my kids christmas.

That's a weak analogy if you ask me, we're not talking about Rafa's wages.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostCan you imagine putting together your personal finanancial plan and going to your employer and asking how much am I going to be paid/week and they said, "i'll let you know later".

It'd be more like going to see your boss in November and saying "how much is my Christmas bonus going to be" and them saying "well that depends on your performance and the company's over the whole year not 11 months".

So what your saying then in 3 weeks time the transfer budget could have changed because of stadium costs?Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostArsenal United and Chavski are not building a new stadium, a stadium for which the costs have spiralled.

Again I'm not having that.
So Hick and Gillet come over in 3 weeks and say to Rafa ok you've got 15mil to spend in Jan. Then 2 weeks later the transfer window opens and they say sorry Rafa the stadium cost has gone up again you've only got 5 mil to spend and then 2 weeks later they say sorry Rafa the stadium cost has gone down you've now got 20 mil to spend?**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

Maybe he has been told a similar story to what you suggest but he wants it to be more specific?

I sincerely believe that someone has gone back on their word - Before we had this new investment Rafa was a right scrooge and never really moaned about lack of money, hell he would rather lose his No.1 target than pay over the odds (eg Dani Alves).
So, since G&T have taken over he has been given more spending power(?) but still would not pay over the odds for some targets (look how cheap he got Torres!!).
Rafa is not being unreasonable and IMO it is time for G&T to put up some big bucks and start landing Rafa's No.1 targets. That is the only way THIS team can improve and compete for the titlr THIS season."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

You dont build a team in the summer, thinking you'll need to buy more in January. He got the money to buy players for a whole season. You buy players in January in case of serious injuries in your squad, or only for minor changes.Originally posted by Pacman View PostWhat's all this been about then?

Rafa got a massive support in terms of money and confidence from the owners in the summer but he hasnt stoped complaining.
He has to shut up and do the talking on the pitch and win us games with the brilliant squad he's got at his disposal.“If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing.”
