It's a times like this I miss the insightful insider comments of Duncan Oldham. He's probably chatting with Rick Parry right now about replacements for Rafa. Anyone still go on that site?

At the end of the day whether you're in Rafa's camp or the yanks this is no way to run our football club.

We are a ****ing joke at the minute and it's us that is suffering.
**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

But I just don't believe anything I read anymore.

And to be honest I really couldn't give a **** if Rafa is moaning that can't sign any players in January. Shut the **** up and get on with it. Boring.
I agree it should not be splashed on the front pages and Rafa should have dealt with it better but it's as if grass is being cut under his feet, you can imagine the feeling.

FFS, what's the point of buying a club and letting Parry continue with his duties without any power whatsoever. Their hands are tied.

What an incredibly depressing article by Barrett. This is potentially disastrous.

Nothing's changed in my head though - I am 100% with Benitez on this. One hundred ****ing percent.

He wants us to make serious headway, but the Americans' clueless dithering is costing us.

                Or it could easily not.

For the record I've got time for Tony Barrett, I'm sure he's not trying to sensationalize this like that cunt Prentice might.

But still am I the only one who sees the quote above as a reasonable thing to say on their part?

It doesn't say Rafa's getting no money to spend is he?

Maybe our January budget is dependent on qualification for the last 16 in Europe, which is fair enough, we can't spend money we don't have.

Can't believe people are getting so worked up about this. Daft.

It looks like its come down to a 'back me' ultimatum. They basically said no. I think this is terminal.

How is it ****ing reasonable to not discuss budgets/transfer plans AT ALL until December 16? TWO WEEKS before the window opens, which includes a Christmas break. FFS! It is LUDICROUS.

Of course the financial picture will be clearer then but there’s NOTHING to stop the Yanks drawing up a Plan A and a Plan B, with Rafa, via email, video conference – what****ingever.

I am dismayed with the Americans over this. Come on Rafa.

I don't think the yanks have told him he's getting x ammount to spend and he isn't happy about it I just think he wants to know if he is shopping at Tesco or Harrods.

Can you not see that he is pissing in the wind a little and he can't make any preperations for Jan because those 2 dithering cunts are playing hard ball.

You mean that Rafa can't formulate a plan in 2 weeks?

Heaven help us if he can't.

Really mate do you respect him for behaving like a whinging cunt, in public, on the eve of a big game for us in our hopes of the title?

The fact is that Rafa is pissed off. This is worrying. I don't think a single second that Rafa's strategy wasn't spelt out clearly since the beginning and that Rafa is asking for more money for the sake of it.

Facts are that Rafa has balanced the books greatly in the summer and the net spend was nowhere what Manure or Man City spent. If we're aiming to be the best, then we must take a step on our rivals in the transfer market.

I still think that the situation is not dramatic, based on the playing personnel we have, but I doubt we're better than Man Utd. Europe is important but our holy grail is the Premier League, and if it's sacrificing the CL it for success in it then it would have been worth it.

The terms of the investment should also have been a significant investment in the playing staff, not just the stadium. That's probably why Moores and Co. had plans for a less extravagant stadium the first time around. If it's spending £ 400m pounds on a stadium with limited finances to support team building in the short term, i.e sacrificing glory on the field for long term profits, then that is wrong.

I expect him to do what it takes to get the best for LFC – which is what he’s doing. And I back him. If he feels going public and having a dig will make his point – so be it.

Whatever you say and whoever may mock, TWO WEEKS is not enough time to come up with goods. No club waits til January and then piles in, waving wads of cash at, say, Milan, saying “can we have Kaka?!”.

It takes time and methodical planning. Benitez is an obsessive and meticulous planner and he’s being prevented from doing what he sees as the best thing for LFC.

As I said, if G&H don't change their mind and come over and talk to Rafa next week or so then he will probably leave.

I don't think they will do that
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
