too many draws spoil it tbh, the birmingham and spurs games are incredibly frustrating

heck, even the chelscum one shoulda been a win

Just to add, we have played the least amount of home games than the rest of the top 5 apart from Chelsea who we have a game in hand on and are just one point behind.

What I'm looking forward to is the matches at the Bridge, Old Toilet and Emirates to see how we fare. I want to see positives. Even if we don't win the matches I want us to look as though we are CAPABLE. with players like Benayou, Babel and Torres now, I fancy us to grab some points in these places this year.

I think the answer is that our defensive midfielders hasn't been that good this season. Alonso and Mascherano has been below par, they can play much better.

Lucas played excellent one touch football and delivered pass after pass in a high tempo.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

defensive mids weren't the problem against any of those teams

Reminded me of a certain former side Rafa used to manage.

He never went hiding though. Kept trying and running tirelessly and his performance / passing improved in the second half. I like Momo and he's showing his strength of character. He's going to get back to his best, unless Rafa wants to sell him in the January window.

I believe that some of our football during the Newcastle game was absolutely brilliant......some of the best passing, movement and attack minded play that i have seen from a liverpool team in ages. I was very very pleased.

Yes, it's possible that newcastle were just awful, but I think we made them look woeful. I think credit must go to LFC on this one, and i also think we looked so much more balanced with kewell.

it's a horrible thing to say, but the longer that Pennant is injured the better - we are a totally different team without him - for the better

If we can get consistent wins under our belt, i.e on a run of let's say 7 or 8 straight wins, we would be right up there at the top of the table. I can't see Arsenal going on a run like that for too much longer. Their dip in form has to come somewhere soon. They've been flying till then.

Winning breeds confidence and if we can also pull off a coup in the Champions League and qualify, that will make us a very different proposition.

Rafa's point during the league is to improve the squad under a position of strength. We can't stand still ever and think we've got the players to win things, we've still got to improve more.

Not directly but I think that there is a very good point that Rafa likes his deep lying CMs to control the flow of the game and it sets the tone for the rest of the team. I would say that of all those games in only the Blackburn game could it be said that they did this well at all.

I would like to say that while it was flawed Momo's performance yesterday was actually very good. He miscontrolled the ball horrendously a couple of times but he also made some well judged balls out of deep areas which set us on the counter - it is that sort of thing which he hasn't shown for much of the season. He also never allowed any of the Newcastle players to settle and was an integral part of a very well balanced performance by our team.

it all depends on how you view our CM's the only one i'd really call a defensive mid is mascher, all the rest do different jobs, as you say they weren't the problem in the blackburn game, and against the likes of birminghma we shouldn't even need a defensive mid, but it's done with now, onwards and upwards

I deliberately chose to call them 'deep lying midfielders' to get round the whole nomenclature issue. We have looked very assured in midfield in the last few games and I think that Rafa's future not withstanding it will continue that way.
