Rafa has been repeatedly approached by Real Madrid, he stayed because he was given assurances that he would be allowed and backed to build the team he thinks he needs to win the league. He must be feeling completely shafted.

Damn right. It is clear that promises have been made to Rafa which seemingly are not being kept. Let them sack him, pay him £6m to get rid of him, possibly lose key players like Mascherano, Alonso and Reina in the process and bring in a new manager who will have to start from scratch and spend millions to build as strong a squad as we have now.
