Maybe with the Eastern Europeans nowadays that is true but the Irish economy is one of the strongest in the EU and the minimum wage in Ireland is higher than in the UK so we no longer need to travel to the uk to get construction work.Dare we believe

atleast the afl one looks like a football stadium,if a little bland.
the american monstrocity looks like a german airport on steroids!
not to mention the inside design, which looks like they let an 8 year old loose with ms paint! (foster?)
they didnt even bother to fill in the western stand seats at the top and the angles are really out on the kop.
i think they both arent good enough for lfc - just like the two septic tanks that 'own' us.
RECLAIM LFC

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Most groundwork is done by Eastern europeans (cheaper) and Irish (due to majority of the big civil/groundwatering construction are/where originally irish owned or run and have there own gang of workers which move from project to project with them).Originally posted by The Glove View PostMost construction work, according to all the lads who come in to claim dole, is done by Irish/Eastern European workers. I said last night I would post some more today about why the HKS design is 'unworkable' (my word not AFL's). If you look at the aerial shot below you will see that the distance from the back of the Kop (bottom left corner) is actually more than 80 metres away from the centre spot.
My architect buddy reckons that 80metres is the maximum allowable under some rules or regulations (not sure if the rules are FIFA's or more to do with RIBA construction standards or something). Basically this means that the back of the Kop will be unusable (unless they rework the design) thus it might not hold 18,500 fans as they've claimed.
Also, there is a large triangular addition to the stadium (top right on the picture below) that wasn't in the original plans and doesn't seem to do anything! It could possibly be a small multi-storey car park which would replace the much larger underground car park that has been sacrificed to get HKS's proposed build cost down by over £100m to be close to AFL's £290m.
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Might take my name of the season ticket waiting list then and apply to become a steward at LFC...Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostYou might be interested to know Chris that the HKS design - if it's ever built - will apparently need an extra 100 stewards.
Damn, did I say that out aloud? They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!

The triangle thing was there on the original plans as well http://www.anfieldroad.com/wp-conten...tadium-001.jpg . I'd tell you what was there but the PDF plans are on a different pc.

OK, but there's still a large triangular area that doesn't seem to have any purpose! It's certainly not for seats or even executive boxes. Perhaps it is hospitality suites or offices rather than a car park. I suppose it's one of the side effects of having an unusual, angular unsymmetrical design.Originally posted by wishiwasascouser View PostThe triangle thing was there on the original plans as well http://www.anfieldroad.com/wp-conten...tadium-001.jpg . does make sense that it would be a carpark.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostOK, but there's still a large triangular area that doesn't seem to have any purpose! do you know whatever happened to the "bunker suites" they still going ahead now or gone??"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
