I think the most important point, which our American friends understand is that there needs to be a focal point within the stadium. It helps with two areas.
1. A focal point, such as the KOP, helps to develop an atmosphere; in essence the KOP is responsible for the atmosphere of the stadium. This provides an ‘atmospheric’ direction, the KOP sings and in theory other follow. If there is no focal point then all you get is sporadic chanting and a whole lot of white noise. Emirates Stadium!
2. The KOP is a marketable item and as such can generate identity, brand loyalty and cash….. If you a member of the KOP, you’re a member of something special and you’ll happily pay for that!??? WHAT - I'm not paying more to sit in a shiny new Kop than sit in the shiny new Kemlyn Road - i don't now! Or pay to be associated with it! 3. It gives the Kopites somewhere to sit
But you're spot on mate, I dont think to myself I'd love to go to the Emirates Staduim..... it is, and i quote you, "sad reflection on todays money hungry game"

It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'
if having a smaller stadium means keeping all those Bootle half breeds in Bootle the **** it build a 40.000 seater

I sincerely hope we go ahead with the HKS design and not the insipid, sterile AFL stadium. I also hope the new instructions to AFL, which have been confirmed this week, are just a fall-back 'Plan C' if we can't raise the capital for 'Plan B'...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

just been looking at the hks site myself and the stadium will be stunning if they deliver it. the press claimed they had tied up the funding through wachovia last week so i can't see a problem.
