Yeah kudos to RS4, his posts re stadium are always ahead of the game...
Hopefully the re-design won't be too different from the current proposal. maybe we'll just do away with all the steel cladding and build it all out of concrete or is there no way to cost cut our original design?

I would assume that the AFL design will be upgraded and tweaked from the original original plans, just as H&G had announed way back when they first plodded into the fray. I doubt they wouldn't make improvements, seeing now they had to shelve the HKS design.

I can understand frustrations about axing the HKS design, however nobody has with their own eyes seen the AFL design in detail and knows exactly what it will entail, so I would and am reserving my judgement on it and won't go about crying whether or not the new 'old' stadium will be any better.

Either way, we'll be getting a new stadium which ultimately is what we all want. I wouldn't go as far and say I wasn't impressed with the HKS design, however I feel it's more beneficial to wait and see what the new stadium will look like once details are published, no point in fuelling the fire even more when one doesn't have any facts whatsoever. Who knows what the stadium inside will look like exactly, what sort ammenities it will have etc.

They can't find the money for the stadium yet how much did Hicks pay for the one baseball players 10 year contract $240 million?

          I don't believe it will.

It will be yet another generic, soul-less bowl.
          Oh I don't know.

I can understand that the price of steel goes up all the time with all the building in China and now that Spain probably will build a completely new gambling city in the desert, add all the new buildings to the 2012 olympics and it's a lot of steel, meaning a very high price.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

One can also not just take the fans who make up the atmosphere inside the stadium out of the equation.

And you can back this up with facts? Jeez...

And regarding the 'soul-less' bowl, isn't it the fans and organic matter that make up the 'soul' of a stadium?

                  Let's wait and see.

Is anybody else happy about this or is it just me?
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Yeah right. He must think we are complete idiots to swallow that. Dont mind saving 200 million pounds though especially if some of the design function was just there to look pretty. RS4 on the money. cheers mate.

As long as there s a single tier kop that is massive and it doesn't look like every other stadium. I hope that it can be ultimatly nearly 80,000 like they promissed as 70,000 will still leave us behind utd.
The big problem is that it is all back to the drawing board so when Parry says there will be no delay he can't possibly be right.

I'm not happy, just from the fact that it makes us look like cheap skate losers and gives the SCUM even more amunition to take the piss.

**** me, how pissed off must the planners be with us by now.

Even if there are delays (let us assume 6 months, which I doubt anyway and have no way of proving), they would be minute, considering it's going to take ****ing years to build anyway. It's not like they OWE us building it on time, I'm damn glad that we have someone who's actually making it happen, so to just critisize as I see fit is not the way forward, in my humblest of opinions.
