Even if he's right, people seem to be going on as if the RULES say we cant win at Reading AND at Marseille

We won 11 on the bounce last season (or the season before) with a WEAKER squad...why do people think we cant win at reading AND at Marseille?? Bizarre.

I'm chuffed with tonight, it was a perfect performance away from home. Sublime in fact.

That doesnt stop me thinking about the Man Utd game and desperately wanting to win that. I want our chances to be as high as possible.

      Maybe you dont.

Maybe it's good that i get to go to the games, because at least it's obvious that i'm pissed off when we lose...others seem not to be fussed...and have a go at those of us who are. Surreal.
Reading on Saturday was one of those games. It's not great when it happens and I was certainly dissapointed but sometimes, for whatever reason, you end up losing when you shouldn't.

Look at the scum against Bolton or Arsenal at Boro for example. It happens and at the time I can guarantee I was as dissapointed as you but you have to move on because there's nothing you can do about it now. All you're doing is getting yourself het up over it.

Tonight is the night to forget about Saturday. Enjoy tonights result, look forward to Sunday, and put the result on Saturday behind you.

        Have I missed it?
so taking them off with 20 to go when we were at a canter and we have 5 days to rest will affect there performance.......but taking them off with 20 to go, where they would have had to push hard and then have 3 days rest was the wrong thing to do?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

But IMO he did give it up.

Delighted about tonight, but did a genuine attempt to get back into the Reading game need to be sacrificed to do that?
Possibly. I don't know, and, in fairness, neither do you. But I honestly reckon that Rafa does, and I think he made an unpopular call for our own long-term benefit at the weekend.

NO, but i learnt my lesson after going f'in mad at him in 2004 when he gave up the chase for 4th place

                every manager makes mistakes,
i think his starting line up on sat was a mistake,
i would also like him to stop over analyzing things...
I wish he would never play Sissoko or riise

but there is not a manager in world football i would take over him, he was born to be a liverpool manager and i see no reason to jump down his throat at every opportunity until he is making more mistakes than winning moves

It was one bleeding game. It was our first loss in the league.

We showed tonight that it was a minor blip.

Bring on the Manc *******s, cause i can smell blood
Now we're getting somewhere harvey, you're accepting he clearly made a mistake. I'm not now saying sack him...i still back him. I'm just furious that a silly mistake cost us points we should never have lost.

                    Tonight confirmed it for me.

Winning the European cup is more valuable than winning the league.

                    And people accept this?

Most on this thread seem to. Sad, just sad.
Unfortunately, I think Rafa's made his decisions on Saturday for non-footballing reasons.

I don't think favouring one competition over another comes into the equation. At least not on the pitch, anyway.

What if Rafa has no choice but to favour the Champions League? He can't lead us to number 19 and beyond or 6 and beyond if he doesn't have the finance to compete. And he definately can't do it if he doesn't have a job because he failed to secure that finance.

If you ask me, we should have more than enough quality to see off Reading with or without Gerrard, Carra and Torres. I don't blame Rafa for taking them off. I do blame him for the starting formation and personnel though. He clearly ****ed up somewhere.

But I don't think it is fair to accuse Benitez of favouring one competition over another because I suspect he doesn't like it anymore than the rest of us.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

                      Yes it was.

Because he gave up on the chance to pick up points that might be vital, in favour of a game that means less to most (I hope) Liverpool fans.

I'm sorry but I'll never forget this, he went well down in my estimation on Saturday night, and I won't fully respect him until he fully respects our league like he should.

And I really don't care if people think I'm a complete whinging cunt, that's the way I ****in see it.

I'm trying to put it behind me, course i am. I'm made up with tonight. But the Reading game still irks me badly.

That's not a conscious choice i'm making, it's just how it is.

Maybe if we stuiff the mancs, it'll subside.

                            are you referring to me?

I used one generic swear word in reference to him. Some might have found it to be strong, but it was not really a personal attack. It was just said in a general way...such as "god i hate those manc cunts". Im referring to more than one
