Bascombe has some decent contacts at the club. Keep your heads in the sand guys.
"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."
I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

People can change their minds. For all we know until the public display of support G&H would have sacked Rafa, if they have bought in a suitable replacement.
Most insiders are also convinced that as it stands Rafa may not be here next season unless they Rafa wins one of the big two. There is a problem at the board level. They have no issued an official public statement of support.
So what Bascombe says can be true. The problem being an insider is that sometimes when they get one piece of info wrong, people hound on them ridicule you. You have to get all the things correct all of the time. People are forgetting some of the track records which Bascombe, Dave Usher etc. have.
For example in the summer, the count and dave predicted that the yanks dont have much money for transfers. Everybody mocked at them. Now slowly we are getting the info that they are trying to put the money borrowed for torres and babel on the club as a debt or something to that effect.
Again I am not suggesting to go into mass hysteria and panic. Let us keep an open mind. Be ready for everything and if something happens we will be better prepared to handle it. I remember not many people believed hat Stevie G wanted to leave the first time until he gave a press conference.
If Rafa does get the sack in summer then Bascombe will be proved right, albeit a bit late.I agree things change quickly, for all we know Rafa was about to be sacked and maybe he pulled his chin in and kissed arse to save himself.Anyway Bascombe knows far more people who are likely to have some sort of idea of whats going on in the club than any of us so I won't discount him yet. What is certain is that Its a wait and see job for all us cos we know **** all for definite.

What bothers me is there have been numerous statements made by the chairmen and parry in recents weeks discrediting alot of things which have been reported in the papers and yet they haven't made any statements discrediting the most prominent of press stories for the last while and thats Rafa getting the bullet, sooner or later. Also none discrediting this story about them selling up.Why not back the manager publicly if the story is rubbish?

Tom, would he still know as much after the change of ownership? I don't know his sources but I imagine that would have changed since they took over at the top level. Moores et al are just honorary now aren't they?Originally posted by Tom View PostShaggy, he knows his stuff, he cares about the club. He is most definately not making this up to stir up a bit of (to use the word of the moment) melodrama.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Bascombe quite clearly had contacts at the club whilst with the Echo and I don't see why that would change at the NOTW. Look, we all know what kind of paper the NOTW is but that doesn't mean everything they write is made up sh1te.
The club was quite clearly in turmoil a few weeks ago and unless Rafa has eat 100% humble pie , it still is. Nothing has changed me from my view that the club is in a mess behind the scenes and all this change to the stadium plans stuff this week merely confirms this.AKA Heighway No9

Also add to the fact that Rafa seems alot more mellow and seems to have chosen his words alot more careful these past couple of weeks. I wonder why?Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostBascombe quite clearly had contacts at the club whilst with the Echo and I don't see why that would change at the NOTW. Ah sod it. If Stadler & Waldorf sell up then let's hope it's to a good custodian of the club. If Maureen takes charge, then at least he's a good manager. A complete tosser, but a good manager.I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
