Rafa's best team in his own mind...

    Is this, isnt it?

    Pepe
    Finnan
    Carra
    Agger
    Arbeloa
    Yossi
    Gerrard
    Masher
    Kewell
    Kuyt
    Torres

If we used Babel on the left and got another good striker, it'd be extremely good. But what does Rafa SEE in Kuyt?

Disagree, a fit Alonso would be in Rafa's team, no question.

      And Masher would be dropped?

Xabi and Masher in the middle; SG right, Kewell or Babel left side.
        Liverpool born and bred.

I reckon that would be Rafa's best 11. As for what he sees in Kuyt, well it's bizarre. He probably wouldn't even make the bench at Arsenal, United, Spurs or Chelsea. He's a nice guy who gives 100% but he's a very poor footballer.

            I think it's

            Pepe
            Finnan
            Agger
            Carra
            Arbeloa
            SG
            Masch
            Alonso
            Kewell
            Kuyt
            Torres
            Dare we believe

No, I think Benitez would accommodate both. Lets face it, the team against man utd was more or less the same as the one you just posted but we still looked ****. Against top teams especially, you need Alonso without a shadow of a ****ing doubt fella.

Xabi is Rafa's favourite. Definitely in there.

He'd like to accomodate Xabi, Masher and Stevie in the mdfield. Probably with kewell on the left and Torres and Kuyt (unfortunately) up top.

I think the thing with Kuyt is if you picked your best strikers in the premiership you'd have to go a fair way down before you picked him. Lets face it, he'd struggle to get into the top 20 strikers in the league and you won't win a title like that.

Against any team. Alonso is the perfect footballer. He is unreal.

He's not even in the top 35 IMO!

He offers next to nothing. I rate Stephen Howard more.

He is according to Redscouser. He may be even in his top 5.
