That was a poor performance by the reds but 3 points is 3 points and at this stage I don't give a f**k how we win as long as we keep winning. Problem is, if we play like that against 75% of premiership sides away from home we would've probably dropped points. In conclusion, a worrying performance but a very very welcom 3 points.

Errrrr...... yeah we do. We lost to Reading, and drew with Brum at home. Both bad results. Otherwise, we've drawn or lost to the other title challengers at Anfield, which is an entirely different sort of game, and drew away at Pompey, which is a hard game in anyone's book. Everything else we've been winning... and we have an excellent away record this season at the "smaller" teams. Basically, what I'm saying is that the evidence of this season shows that WE DO WIN THESE SORT OF GAMES REGULARLYOriginally posted by oldschool View PostI am happy with the win, its the performance that is unacceptable. If we were regularly winning these type of games, I wouldn't complain, but WE DON'T WIN THESE TYPE OF GAMES REGULARLY.

Id take an ugly win all the time, it was great that we kept on going till the end, its shows that fighting spirit that all champions have......
.....sure it wasnt a great performance and i didnt see it so im only going on what people have said and what they said on SKY but we got 3 points which is the most important. When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

You can't have it all ways. If we play poor and win its not good enough for some but when say Utd do that uits the sign of a good team.
We won't win the league in my view but you never know, we've got to keep plugging away and hope those above drop points. But just as importantly, we've got to secure a top 4 spot to ensure CL qualification next season. we don't want a repeat of 2005 when we finished 5th.AKA Heighway No9

I disagree.Originally posted by flyboy View Postrotation showed its ugly side today....for most parts of the game we were like a bunch of strangers playing together for the first time
We played poorly but that was nowt to do with rotation imo. it was more to do with too many players playing below the necessary level.

if past seasons are anything to go by then we will get between 72 and 78 points this year.
the reason i say that is that in every year that rafa has been in charge, his points tally from the second 19 games in the season has all but exactly matched the points tally from the first half of the season.
we're on 36 points now after 18 games. we still have anything from 0 to 3 points to win in the remaining game of the first half of the season. which will mean that after 19 games we'll be on either 36 or 39 points.
double that and it tells you the league isn't going to happen again. just my view based on analysing the comparison between 1st and 2nd half of the season under rafa.
i know people always say we finish better in the second half of the season than the first, but an analysis of the facts state that each half of the season is pretty much identical (often even exactly identical) to the other.Last edited by alunevans; 26-12-07, 07:17 PM.

You should have watched it with a Derby fanOriginally posted by alunevans View Posti've edited it, was reading the BBC's unupdated league table.
and thankfully yes i slept through the game cos i have a heavy cold. so i did miss the game. sounds a good job too

I can see 80 points being enough this year.... IF the big teams start dropping points which doesn't seem likely at the mo.
Quote of the year :
"With monkey me, dogface dishwasher bitch and chimp the ****ing champ you. We are turning into a raving party here arent we"

Still a long way to go.
Chavs slipped today and got two of their defenders suspended for 3 games.
That is good news for us, regardless of the mancs or arse.
Arse will have a downer too, I am more worried about the mancs to be honest. They look strong.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

This is the type of win I wanted to see. I've seen us win 4-0, 4-1 and even 6-0 but never felt like we would win the league. But now beating a bottom of the league team in the dying seconds 2-1...scoring when it matters...now that makes me dare to believe. Come On You Redmen. One tit for another.

maybe this is one or two seasons too early for us to win it but who gives a ****, lets go down fighting, and with wins like today when weve played ****e things are looking good.
we just need to keep winning for now and then see where we are as regards the mancs and co in feb/march.
One things for sure, we are improving under rafa all the time and until that improvement stops im happy
