I agree Keys came across as someone who knows nothing at all abut football.

I disagree strongly. Oh almost forgot the two or three awful attempted shots on goal he had. Poor from a player of his ability.

I agree we need a player with more quality in his position.
I blame him to the extent that with a short period time left, he had a fantastic chance put on a plate, and failed to score.

A large part of playing up front is being able to hold the ball up back to goal. At the moment Babel and even Torres haven't got this in their locker. Which is why Rafa plays Torres with either Kuyt or Voronin. (neither of these 2 does the job either.)

I think Torres was marked out of the game today, Dunne and Richards covered eachother in marking Torres, Kuyt had lots of space to run into and that for me shows why we need another class striker as a threat up top. I don't think Kuyt is a threat, I certainly don't think opponents perceive him as a threat and therefore give him a certain amount of leeway.
I'm not going to name fantasy targets but if we'd had another class striker up with Torres today, Torres would have played a lot better due to the fact he'd have had a lot more space.

That's how I saw it, just my POV.

they were, if we'd finished our best chances we could have won 2-0, they didn't have a shot on target in the whole match and we had about 6, they were there for the taking

Strangley I don't feel half as pissed off as I did when we drew with Spurs & Birmingham etc. Obviously I'm ****in' massively frustrated still...

I think City deserve credit for the way they defended - sometimes you have one of those days and today was one of them sadly. Torres & Gerrard were off form (Stevie G playing way too deep again)...

                    However positives;
                    - Aurelio looked good
                    - Kewell created a few chances in the first half
                    - We kept a clean sheet with two full backs coming back from injury and a third choice centre back
                    - Mascherano was immense, and anyone who says he needs to improve on his passing quite clearly has worse eyesight than Stevie Wonder
                    - Babel must now surely get more minutes over Kuyt
                    - Benayoun (even though he has his doubters) can cut it at LFC. Can create chances from nothing
                    - Torres showed that he is only human afterall!

he can't be that slow. he made up ground on torres at times and matched him mostly.

Agree with his shooting, poor. But at least he got in the areas to do that.

I think second half he was possibly trying to force some passes.

We played well today and were unlucky.

Mascherano has got to be one of the best players in his position in the world. We must sign him.

Kuyt isn't the only reason we did not win today's game but the fact remains he just ain't good enough. IMO he has to go. The scary thought is that Crouch may be sold and we will keep Kuyt.

I think Babel is a very exciting prospect and will be superb for us. He has so much drive.

I wish they'd stop talking about Everton FFS. It's City v Liverpool don't ya know?

Kuyt has scored 3 goals in the league 2 of which were penos and the other he knew **** all about. Frankly I d rather have a waster who scores regularly than someone who runs around all game. He is suppossed to be our number 2 striker and as long as he is we will never seriously threaten the title.
Agree about the subs, i did think that with them only playing one striker and having zero ambition, it didnt really need Arbeloa, Carra AND Masher sitting in front of our box like that. Maybe Alonso on for Masher, with instructions to get forward might've been better.

But we played very very well, Rafa cant legislate for a typical donkey moment from Kuyt.

But that was a sitter, a striker has to score those and he didnt. It cost us 2 points.
I agree but then was Torres' two misses any harder?
