He brought very little. Torres was poor and looked tired, Gerrard too.
But Kuyt has no quality whatsoever. There's only so much you can achieve with hard work. He's not good enough, never has been. Ship him off to Reading and bring in someone with class.

        Disappointed but optimistic.
This was different though. Normally against a massed defence we throw the dice. We boot it and hope for somethng and nothing does.

This time we took them to pieces. We didn't come up with a blank as a result of a failure to break them down (which is normally the case). We came up with a blank because once we'd broken them down we failed to stick the ball in the net.

That's a big difference. If we play like this against every massed defence we'll win pretty much all of them.

If we play like this against everyone, then we'll look a bloody good team.

Our two stars were off their game today too. That was probably the difference between winning and losing other than a superb performance by City's captain.

Performance wise I'm happy enough. More please and the results will follow.

gerrard was ok but not to his normal standards
Aurelio was class should always play when fit
Babel should have started upfront in my opinion, I'd love to see him and Torres start a game together upfront.

Helped along by Dunne who was fantastic.

What I noted today are that Benayoun's one real weakness is taking too much out of the ball, as is Babel's which was evident when he came on.

i thought The team in general was pretty good today though. Masher was great as was Carra. Aurelio impressed me today too for only about the second time.

Rafa needs a new left winger (Petrov)
a new striker to play with Torres (Santa Cruz)

I wouldn't criticise Gerrard at all, i thought he played quite well.

I was suprised he didn't bring Alonso on and move stevie to the left/right.
He didn't play well at all. Barely got on the ball in the first half, never really looked interested first half either. Second half he got involved more but his passes were often wayward and he tried too many clever passes which never came of, lovely ball to Babel near the end though. However overall i thought he could have played alot better. Disappointing.

Jamie Redknapp's not my favourite pundit, but he certainly put Keys in his place during that exchange. My particular favourite was the "I've played in games like that" line, effectively telling Keys to adjust his armchair position and button it.

you cant start Babel up front because IMO he isn't up to it back to goal yet.

First half he did have to ball, but was playing more as a holding midfielder. Second half he played for more advanced. And when he got the ball we always looked more dangerous.

Babel's decision making still leaves a bit to be desired.

He got into fantastic positions a couple of times but either dithered on the ball or took the wrong option.

Still though, it's nice to see a player who has the power, pace and skill to get himself into such positions.

He is actually a Striker, so Im guessin he has the ability to play upfront, next thing we will be buying Berbatov and playing him left back because he aint ready....
