Thanjk you.

dunne was a revelation for me today - i always thought he was a bit of a yard dog but he did play really well toady
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
R5live said Richards could/should have been off after 3 minutes and Dunne at some point in the second half, both for hauling down Torres when last man. I didn't see the game and MOTD didn't show the Dunne challenge. Any views?

Crap, subdued atmosphere again, although it improved marginally in the 2nd half. The Harold Shipman chant got some boisterous airings.
We were the only team trying to win the game - I've never seen such a negative home display before from a team placed 5th in the league.
Torres got kicked all over the place, from the first minute to the last. A lot of his movement was 'gingerly' to say the least, and he got more and more frustrated as the game wore on. I thought he was gonna boil over at one point near the end, and sadly the super-impressive Dunne got the better of him. He is human after all.
I'd like to see more of that from Aurelio. A fantastic full-back performance and his wand of a left foot is a joy when he's at his best.
All in all a disappointing day, capped off by the sight of Jacko's enormous bald bonce, who was sat a few rows in front of me with his old man.
Who's that Shaggy?

i thought there was contact in the 1st challenge your on about not enough to get sent off like but the 2nd one they both played each other. its not the first time dunne has played a blinder against us either

City had maybe one shot at goal in the 2nd half. We had 10. Dunne saved on the line. We just couldn't score.
Everybody should be damn proud of the lads for a fantastic dominating away game.
My two cents:
Torres failed us a bit today. Kuyt went too deep for the ball - again. Gerrard sat on line instead of infront of Mascher too much of the time. With the possession we had today I would have preferred Gerrard as an advanced midfielder. Even though Mascher looked immense Gerrard didn't take full advantage and went too deep too often and his/our game suffers when he does that. Carra looked fantastic and Arbeloa looked shell shocked. Fabio looked like a beautiful promise and Finnan looked old and grey. Reina had nothing to do. Yossi over did his dribbling way too much but tried hard. Kewell looked good for 20 mins and then he looked like he would be leaving very soon.
We made a very good team look ordinary at home and we should be damn proud of that.
Happy N.Y.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
so am i the only one that though the ref was the biggest pile of ****. that we had 1 possibly two good shouts for a red card against them. torres the only one being booked when the ref allowed them to get away with silly ****...
we should have won inspite of that, we had chances they didn't, we should have done better...

Rennie have never been any good. He moves up and down in the middle of the pitch and that means that he almost never will be close enough to the situations.
I can understand why he missed some of the physio tests but I will never understand how he finally passed one.
The most lazy ref in the league by a mile.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

No, I agree, the ref was rubbish, how he didn't manage to produce at least a booking if not a red card for either of those challenges is completely beyond me, and completely contradictory to the rules of the game.

your wrong mike and had carra been sent off for something similar we would of all been up in arms. after what happened to that zak knight against villa, the refs need to step back a bit and allow contact cos its becoming a farce. richards foul was a foul nothing more nothing less, dunnes contact was exactly that, contact from both he and torres

no way, if he was the last defender and fouled the striker and robbed him of a good chance on goal i would have no problem with it, and especially if he didn't go for the ball like both dunne and richards did to torres, richards even put his arms around him and dragged him down but yet he refused to blow the wistle. it's just how the game goes, the defender where allowed to kick torres all over the park no prtection. twice they fouled on torres and robbed him of a good chance and that in the book is a red card, and in both of those cases the defenders made no attempt to win the ball...

this last defender stuff is a bill of goods. torres and richards both fought as hard as each other for the ball and i will grant you richards ended up fouling him but ****ing nowhere near enough to be sent off. in dunnes case it simply wasent a foul. your frustration is there is no consistancy, my frustration is the game has been hijacked by tarts falling over the place and refs buying into it. uriah renne had a good game today and nothing for us to complain about.
