That's true mate I would agree with that comment and we have managed to do something close to that in each of the last 2 seasons so I'm optimistic because I can feel a real run of form coming and I can see it starting with Wigan.

We should be heading for a good run from now till the Chelsea game which is a must win for us to kill them off and to gain some ground on the other teams of the Big Four.

We have : Wigan (H), Boro (A), Villa (H), West Ham (A), Sunderland (H) then leading to Chelsea at the Bridge.

We should be looking at maximum points against all those sides and on paper they are all winnable. West Ham maybe the banana skin but if we are at full strength, we can demolish them like last season.

I thought we were superb today apart from our front two who were absolute gash. Had Torres been firing on all cylinders we probably would have come away with a 3-0 win.

Gerrard, Mascherano, Aurelio, Carragher, Finnan and Yossi were top class today. They pretty much controlled the match from start to finish. Great movement all round, good defending and great going forward. Arbeloa had a very average game and I wouldn't like to see him start too many times as a centre back...he's a far better full back. Better fowards would've taken him to the cleaners. Kewell was average for the most part, he simply has to do better than he did today. And Torres was surprisngly crap. As for Kuyt, well it's the same old story...all huff and puff and ZERO end result.

I predicted a draw today as I didn't really have confidence that we'd be able to perform to the level required to claim the 3 points. However, I thought the level of performance for the most part was very encouraging.

we ALWAYS do this - look further than the next game - which is almost always the most important one. Let's just beat Wigan and then take the next game etc.....

Our Xmas/New year fixtures Port'm (H), Derby (A), Citeh (A) & Wigan (H). from thoses matches we will end up with 10 pt, touch wood.

From the next matches, we should get atleast another minimum 13pts b4 Chelski.

If that happens, we have a chance.

sometimes you get "one of those days", arsenal had it at portsmouth, our friends across the way had it yesterday themselves. It happens. If we had scored the 2 or 3 goals that our domination had deserved then everyone would say what a fantastic performance it was. Today there is such a fine line sometimes and that fine line should not confuse people between what is a great side v an underachiever. If we win our game in hand we are 5 points behind the mancs, yes the same sinde that I have heard over the last fortnight are definitely the team that will win the league. Well if they are that good that they are guaranteed champions at Christmas then we cannot be too far off being a championship winning side...can we???

                    A disappointing day.

Crap, subdued atmosphere again, although it improved marginally in the 2nd half. The Harold Shipman chant got some boisterous airings.

We were the only team trying to win the game - I've never seen such a negative home display before from a team placed 5th in the league.

Torres got kicked all over the place, from the first minute to the last. A lot of his movement was 'gingerly' to say the least, and he got more and more frustrated as the game wore on. I thought he was gonna boil over at one point near the end, and sadly the super-impressive Dunne got the better of him. He is human after all.

I'd like to see more of that from Aurelio. A fantastic full-back performance and his wand of a left foot is a joy when he's at his best.

All in all a disappointing day, capped off by the sight of Jacko's enormous bald bonce, who was sat a few rows in front of me with his old man.

Funny you should say that about Torres because at full time he was straight down the tunnel. Never shook hands with any of the players. Probably had enough of them by then and thought **** it I'm off.

He's a big lad. He will come back with a bounce against Bent Nose's side. We should start BTW and rest him against Luton

fabio had a brilliant game. torres got battered, he'll get used to it. kuyt is **** and i'd much rather be honest and look at our lack of cutting edge rather than describe dunn as a quality centre back. really thought rafa should have changed it earlier though.

fed up of playing catch up and not taking our chances when they are presented. we should have beat city. really frustrated.
