It's not because we played with 2 holding midfielders that we've drawn, it's because we couldn't score from clear cut chances, a familiar failing this season.
I think you're confusing Torres running his heart out trying to drag us to victory with the rest of the team. Torres was exceptional tonight, did everything he could to get us a result, but the guy was isolated because of the tactics employed by Rafa.

Owen so frequently papered over the cracks for Houllier. Torres is doing the same for Rafa but alarmingly this is just months into his career at the club, not years as was the case with Michael.

its rafa's fault as i've already stated on other threads as he buys the **** players, puts out **** line ups, plays **** bring negative formations and lacks passion to lead us to Premier glory......GET MOURINHO IN NOW!!!!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Why do people keep insisting it's not Rafa's fault. Ultimately he is the manager, he buys the players, he coaches them, he decides on tactics and he picks the team. Rafa has to shoulder the blame as well. Is it not his fault that he takes off a winger and puts on Kuyt. Is it not his fault we started with one striker. Is it not his fault that we are so timid at times. Is it not his fault we have so many CM and not one decent winger.

Its the same old story and nothing has changed. 8 draws already this season suggests we are about as positive as a glass of water.

I don't want to get drawn into any arguments, but i don't see how people are blaming Rafa for todays loss.

We played three, yes three attacking midfielders.

If Kuyt had of played up front i guarantee you people would be whinging about that.

Rafa has made mistakes in his time, but today was not one of them.

A team consisting of Alonso, Kewell, Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano should be well capable of battering a team like Wigan.

you need to take your goggles off Fredo. You really think Rafa shouldn't be blamed? Ship going down, you blame the passengers, you blame the bar workers? You blame the captain. With great power comes great responsibility. Rafa needs to win the FA Cup and Champions League double to save his job.

12 points behind Fredo, a lucky win against Derby and a point against one of the other relegation lot today. Its not just this result and for me, it was down to us having 2 holding midfielders tonight, there was no need.

Crouch and Torres up front and there would have been more targets and natural goal scorers in the box.My opinion only, but one up front against Wigan was madness. Yes we missed a couple of chances, they also came very close to another goal themselves.

Wigan lost 2-0 away to Arsenal, 4-1 away to Bolton, 3-2 away to Birmingham, 4-0 away to Manu, 2-1 away to Reading, 1-0 away to Newcastle, yet we played with Torres on his own with Gerrard in a makeshift formation with 2 Strikers on the bench.....

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

The forum is a representation of the fans. You heard the boos tonight mate, Rafa's support is waning. We're no closer to winning the PL now than we were when he joined us.

Fighting for 4th ain't good enough, fighting for 1st will be satisfactory. But even then, 2nd won't be good enough after a while. We want the title, we need it, Rafa CANNOT deliver it. He's had 3.5 seasons to show almost no improvement to our league placing.

The CL was incredible but it's the PL we need, he hasn't got it in him.
