I don't want to get drawn into any arguments, but i don't see how people are blaming Rafa for todays loss.

We played three, yes three attacking midfielders.

If Kuyt had of played up front i guarantee you people would be whinging about that.

Rafa has made mistakes in his time, but today was not one of them.

A team consisting of Alonso, Kewell, Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano should be well capable of battering a team like Wigan.

I can't agree with that. This team should have been good enough to win, I agre, but he took unecessary risks. Where is Crouch, on for 7 mins, I mean, really. Set up to put crosses in and we had one player trying to get on the end of it.

A big factor is that we have two first choice-ish CB's out currently

Agger has been a big loss for us this season - defensively and offensively

unfortunately we didnt have cover

plus this is our 4th game in no time, despite rotation, our defense has looked ropey for weeks

really really missed hyypia in this game

This formation is the way to go. Very fluid. It's not Rafa's fault if Stevie can't score from 4 yards out. We created enough chances to win and you blame it on a lack of strikers. Do Arsenal play with 2 strikers ? United play with a man withdrawn but their movement does the rest.

The manager picks the team, selects the subs he wants and forms the team up in the formation he wants, they are then given tacticts by the manager in order to exploit the weaknesses of the oposition in order to win the game. How is results like these not Rafa's fault? I can stomach being behind utd/chavs even the arse bearing in mind how long wenger has had to build a side but not by the current points margin, it's a ****ing disgrace!
