I know there are threads about Rafa's future, but I wanted to see in simple, numerical terms where this site stands on the future of Rafa Benitez.

Simple question. Is he still the man for the job? Not "let's see where we are in the summer". Do you, TODAY, think he has a long-term future as LFC manager.

Faith in what mate?

That he can win us the league?

That would be a no.

Great in the cups, especially Europe, it's beyond doubt.

But in the league he just continues to make a complete cunt of it.

Even if you gave him £300m like the Russian gave the self effacing sociopath cunt, he'd still come up with silly formations and other tactical oddities that defy sense and logic.

If he ever decides to set his team up to attack, rather than worry about the opposition then he might get somewhere.

Reckon I'll be waiting for another 17 years for that to happen though.

Back him in the transfer market and he will deliver, just look at Torres, Babel and Lucas in the last window.

It's the attacking players that he get most wrong but that is because they cost a lot of money.

When we win, he is the greatest manager on the planet.

When we lose, he is the worst.

It's the nature of the beast. Just a frustrated supporter venting some emotion, nothing wrong in that in 2008, and with phone-ins & forums, we can all have our say these days. Thankfully none of us work in the boardroom at Anfield and have zero influence on the real matters

Will we ever win the league with Rafa as manager, I can't answer that, but I always live in hope we will.

Obviously I can't speak for others on that one. What do people expect of him?

Problem is that he hasn't even started to compete for the league. 4th year running and we're out of the league.

And this is supposed to be our best squad yet.

Yes, we need to keep hold of him, who the hell would we replace him with. All the Spainish players he has brought in would certainly consider their futures, we cannot rebuild again Rafa is a very intelligent man he will learn from this season.

He needs funds for top class wingers, we've needed wingers for years sing about Masherano all you guys want but 17 million could buy us the superior creative wide man we need.

Gerrards form has been erratic this season as well, he lost his form when he put England ahead of LFC when he quite clearly wasn't 100%.

Morale is low at the moment but we will come through this, hopefully with Rafa at the helm, the players need to pick it up.

Have faith in Rafa - I think he'll learn from mistakes. Not so long we scored a **** load of goals.

However, I've lost faith about the league this year. Gone I'm afraid - and I'm usually the optimist.

I've said "No" because of the inclusion of the phrase "long-term" in the question. Unless he fundamentallly changes his mentality to the game, then he's not the man for LFC long-term. It's such a shame becuase he is a WINNER, he just doesn't have the approach or the mentality for the Prem, and he reign at LFC has co-incided with the bar being raised in English Football to a level where the points tally required to win the title id the highest it's ever been.
