Unsure - To say we haven't progressed under Rafa is very unfiar because we obviously have. Its just a shame that the teams around us have also progressed in his time here, often at a rate greater than ours.

I`m worried that our fans think we have a divine right to win the league when we can`t compete in the transfer market.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI'm not on about your mates or posters on here, I'm on about at the MATCH. In fact I'm on about at the match, on here, on RAWK (the ultimate RCDNW site?)....everywhere.
The team were BOOED OFF! What more evidence do you need? This never happens at Anfield.
I don't mean a 100% about-turn in opinion, but a lot of people who've supported Rafa unswervingly since day one are beginning to question whether or not he's right for the job.
Our team could do with Berbatov and Anelka.Where do you think they`ll go to.
Where did Ronaldo,Malouda and others go to????
Rafa made no mistakes today,Morres and Parry dug this hole.

The problem with O'Neill is that his tracksuit, kinetic energy image tends to suggest he's little more than a motivator and would be completely at odds with Houllier and Rafa - not that this would automatically be a bad thing. He is also prone to making some really bad buys, though he does have a knack for picking up players that maybe are a bit unfancied and getting the best out of them.Originally posted by vonk View PostHonestly Shaggy, it's a tough ,but I think Martin O'Neill. I'm sure I'll get slated for it but I think he has done really well on a first team squad of 17 players. Villa have few outstanding players yet seem motivated beyond belief. Belief would not be a problem, but I'm not sure about his tactical ability. We may have to wait a while again for European success (which I'd be prepared to sacrifice).
As for Europe, he was unlucky not to better Mourinho in the UEFA Cup Final, Porto really were a bunch of diving cheats in that game.
It would be interesting to see what he did with a really big club, the signs at Villa are promising considering they are only a couple of points behind us and to be fair, if he somehow got them to finish ahead of us this season you'd be hard-pressed to argue against him.
Short of a left-field candidate of the managers currently in the Premiership he would seem the only potential option.

Do you not think Luck comes into it.???Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostThat would probably be true but we have a right to feel cheated and frustrated after the last couple of months with the results
Not beating Manure for the umpteened time and not been able to beat the other top 3 teams regularly is frustrating and we need to start beating them

It did but I didn't mean "it never happens" literally.Originally posted by AFII View PostI think it happened a couple of times at the end of the 2004 season just before Houllier left.
Also...you make my point for me - the last time it happened was just before Houllier left!
The end was nigh. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Depends what you mean Shags.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonsoI know there are threads about Rafa's future, but I wanted to see in simple, numerical terms where this site stands on the future of Rafa Benitez.
Simple question. Is he still the man for the job? Not "let's see where we are in the summer". Do you, TODAY, think he has a long-term future as LFC manager.
If you mean do i think he will win us the Premier League, then no i dont.

No-one thinks we have a divine right to win the league but there are a few thing we do have a right to demand, like competing with our rivals.Originally posted by Johnny View PostI`m worried that our fans think we have a divine right to win the league when we can`t compete in the transfer market.

Not with me.Originally posted by captainfog View PostIt would be interesting to see the results of another poll in a couple of weeks time if we won our next 3 games.
Rafa would be king again.
The Reading game was where I turned like Judas Iscariot.
Rightly or wrongly we have a manager who values European competition above our domestic challenge.
Throw in his bizarre, opaque tactical anomalies and it's not a successful combination, as we're finding out......I hate Polanski
