Marketing the Academy so the best youngsters will chose us will save us millions and you can't market it in much better ways than to win trophies.

This is Rafa's 4th season. Houllier got 5, surely Rafa should get the same?

I have my doubts that his style of management will win us the league, in fact of what I've seen it simply won't.

But he should get more time. I'd like to see if he can correct his seemingly opaque tactical tendencies, and bin a few underperformers.

I'll admit it, at this point I'm sceptical and I've lost faith in him. He deserves the chance to prove me wrong though.

Possibly you could argue that Rafa deserves 5 seasons.

My problem with that is as follows.

As i've said, when it comes to Mourinho, i dont particularly 'like' him. (I dont hate him either, but there we go). What i DO think about him, is that he would win the title for us. I've expressed various reasons why i think this.

And the fact of the matter is, Mourinho isnt going to be available forever. He's there now and he'll be got, i'm convinced of that.

If Rafa was using what he had better, there'd be no gripe. But it's not like rafa STILL has the traores and biscans of this world, he's developed a strong squad with the ability to challenge.

But he INSISTS of removing all stability, rotating where it's folly and putting the CL top of his priorities. His current lack of security in his job is largely of his own making. He's shot himself in the foot and continues to do so.

Ultimately, he's weakening his own position and the biggest disappointment is he HAS most of what he needs to do much better. He's just too set in his ways with regards to certain methods and it's costing him points.

Come the summer, it will have cost him his job and it's a real shame.

On an extra point - if you're convinced he wont ever win us the title, what's the point in giving it another year?

Just concede the point AFII, players coming through the academy to play in the first tema is the reason the academy exists, and it is not to win Youth cups. FFS

I don't disagree with the notion that Rafa deserves time and possibly does deserve 5 seasons but what is the point if the board and some of the fans at the matches have lost faith in his ability in the domestic league?

In my opinion we are. Ged used to rule us out in november.

Also we were petrified of passing the ball. It was all about having 10 men in our half and just using Owen on the break. I couldnt stand the football.

IMO there is a world of difference between what I was seeing then and what I am seeing now.

Mourinho to me is a houllier with money. Dont like him OR his style of football.

Yes its succesful but I want more than that for liverpool and with Rafa I have it.

I also dont want him gone if we dont win the league this year because I can see the work he is doing and i appreciate/respect him for it and want to see how it comes to fruition.

As for money spent before he was there...money's been spent at Anfield too.

In fairness give Rafa 80m to spend in one season and I think he would win it aswell
