Is this an indicator of how big Rafa's job is to catch Utd and co?

That is what I mean with not quick enough to make the tough decisions. He let his heart rule instead of using the head.

The stadium fiasco is another great example of how **** businessman he is. His plan was to build a 60k stadium with no chance to expand it. If we would have done that then we would have been forced to build another new stadium in around 10-15 years time because we would still be playing catch up to United.

To even think about a 60k stadium with no chance to expand it is a complete joke.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Mate, 60k stadium is still better than a 45k one. At least he got the idea right.

I've said it somewhere, he may have been ill advised. Moores is a true red.

I know that Moores is a true red but you can't let your heart rule in important business decisions.

I agree with that he got the idea right that we need a bigger stadium but he should never even have planned to build a 60k stadium without any chance to expand it.

Hope this is spread far and wide so supporters might start to see the task ahead in a more realistic light. Winning the title before completion of the stadium will take a miracle.

As far as miracles go there is only one manager I know who has performed one.

Nobody doubts he loved the club however from a business perspective he kept the club in limbo.

If he couldn't do it another way and was the only solution to take us forward then I think it was worthwhile.

And I don't think he let his heart rule his head. He sold the club in the end.

It's not an easy thing to do and I'd imagine how much people would have wanted to set foot in this club. That's why the process took so long, as he didn't want to **** it up. Even if it turns out to be a **** up, it's probably sheer bad luck or what I said, he was poorly advised.

In any case, our decline started before Moores came in. And we have no god given right to win things. Other clubs were better during that period, so we need to catch them.

it was a secure limbo though, i'd much rather be in the "moores" limbo than an "american" limbo

continued pressure and media hype contributed to the selling of the club in the manor it did

                          I agree with Rocket.

                          FFS leave Moores alone.

Ehm...We DID stagnate financially compared to the others on Moores' watch, whether you like it or not, nice fella or not.

As annoying as it is with a bit of luck, not panicing, and good business acumen Manchester United were at the top of the league when the REAL money first started to flood in, this coupled with an excellent manager and team, and obviously a strong behind the scenes business team have enabled them to out perform their rivals.

Everyone has been playing catch up since the mid 90's.
