I think Rafa has a 'thing' about persisting with his new signings that don't perform.

His philosophy is obviously one of ok I'll play him till he starts producing and then I'll bench his over performing ass.

I'd have to agree with that BUT even when Crouchy was struggling I still felt he was contributing to the team. We looked a better side. He was doing a job when our other options of Cisse and Morientes were not reliable enough to lead the line. I was genuinely happy when he scored against Wigan because he deserved it for the work he was putting in.

I know what you meant, but IMO we're a lot worse off, but it's not unexpected. Boro are one of our bogey teams.

I know that he probably won't do that but that is what he need to. If Torres gets injured then it's bye, bye fourth place and CL next season. Rafa takes a very big gamble if he don't sign some quality upfront this window.
