I didn't see the game but the posts from those watching at the time were that the attitude of the players was appalling. Can anyone who went comment on the players' attitude?

i dunno alun it was very strange
finnan was awful that in itself is unusual
arbeloa was worse,looked like he'd been taking lessons off riise. he miskicked the ball a number of times and just looked lost.
benayoun did nothing even when tracking back he would just run beside the attacker without even trying to challenge.very strange.offered nothing going forward despite facing a 19 yr old debutant.
riise.was riise.
voronin.out of his depth.and like the others mentioned just could not pass the ball.i'm talking 5-10 yard passes here.
sami needs a break.badly.
carra is not a ball playing centre half but when were relying on him to try and pick out players from the back it shows how were struggling.
gerrard.we cannot rely on him to win us every game.the finger pointing at him when we dont win is ridiculous.
special mention goes to masch
who was outstanding as usual imo running at full pelt all over the place getting tackles in.

is it the players attitude that made so many of them underperform or is something else.i dont know but 1st half especially was apalling.
alonso when he came on continued in his poor form of late.when he is struggling to string passes together i worry,is it due to him coming back from injury,once again i dunno.
kuyt was put out left when he came on,not his position,wasnt in the game
babel.looked like a striker.did well. he's not a winger .

sorry this turned into one of those marking players posts.
attitude or ineptitude there was something seriously wrong today.
and im not talking about the result,i mean the simple things like passing ,movement off the ball,showing for the ball, all lacking today.

There's no doubt that they guy's a good manager but I'd guess that it's based on principle for some people. How can you honestly go from hating the guy to loving him?

And if the owners think Rafa's abrasive, how would they get on with Mourinho? He'd last about 8 weeks before he upset them.

If Rafa goes, and I too think he should get to the end of the season before any decision is made, then from the Premiership as it stands now I'd want O'Neill or Mark Hughes. Both have done very good jobs at their current clubs and have sufficient experience from either their playing days or their managerial career to suggest to me that they could handle being manager at a club of our size.

I really don't think Jose would fit in with us and would come with too much baggage and I can't think of too many obvious candidates from Europe who would be able to adjust to the Premiership fast enough.
