How we ever gonna catch them or give them a serious challenge?
We have to have faith in the manager, it is as simple as that. I think he can turn things around.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          Rosicky - 7M in Summer 2006
          Adebayor - 3M in January 2006

As you can see, no player who had been at Arsenal for more than 5 years and a total cost of around 30M. Only Toure was a regular in their previous title winning side.

and maybe wenger is better at getting this talent in than any other manager, and maybe rafa can win a euro cup and wenger can't every manager has their own qualities

We will play better in the last games but we won't win the title without signing high quality players and they usually cost a lot of money.

We need a right wing back.....£15m+ if you want one good enough if you are not lucky and make a bargain but then you take a chance that he may not be good enough. Alves would be my choice.

A new left wing back, Insua may be good enough but again, that means making another gamble. £15m+. Lahm would be my choice.

A new right winger......£20m+. Joaquin would be my choice.

A new left winger, Capel for £8m or another one £20m+. Capel would be my choice.

A new attacking midfielder.....£20m+. Diego would be my choice.

A new striker.......£20m+. Benzema would be my choice.

Maybe another central defender, £10m. Garay would be my choice.

            Anyone got a spare £100m?

            ---------------------Reina
            Alves--------Garay-----------Agger-------Lahm
            --------------Masch-------Gerrard------------
            Joaquin-------------Diego-----------------Capel
            --------------------Torres---------------------

We are a long way of the top I know that it's a fantasy team but you can always dream.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Jeez. I would be surprised if we got one of those players.

Anyone that thinks we require 100M to challenge Man Utd / Chelsea needs their head examined.

Our squad is clearly not that bad considering we can all identify a number of incidents of dropped points when our overall performance level has been poor, not a single individual. We've thrown points away this season with bad team selections and formations. Had we not done that we'd be about 5 points back probably and be musing over the fact all we need is 1-2 quality players and we're set.

Instead we're 12 points off the lead, with a game in hand true, but playing absolutely ****e football because the team has lost any kind of rhythm due to the manager's lack of direction.

Two quality wingers and another quality preferably central attacker would be enough IMO. Babel has the talent to replace Torres is injured in a cenral role if we are stuck for pace.

Too much tinkering in tactics is causing confusion.

I don't mind rotation but if we are winning, it makes sense and if all the players are at a high standard which clearly these crop of players aren't.

And then Benitez can rest all these players for Voronin equivalents for half the season. I know this is another slate Rafa post but I like the man and what he's done. I also know what he'll never be able to do for us: win the league.

We could be able to have quality all over the pitch for £50m-£60m net. The problem is that I doubt very much that Rafa will get that kind of money from G&H.
