Reina May Have Forgotten His Derby Day Blunder - But Have We?

    REINA'S RECOVERED FROM DERBY DESPAIR

Pepe Reina insists his derby day blunder has been forgotten as he
prepares for another high-profile Premiership fixture this weekend.

With Liverpool travelling to champions Chelsea on Sunday, Reina's form
will be put under the intense scutiny of the television cameras once
    again.

But fresh from keeping a clean sheet in Tuesday's Champions League
clash with PSV, the Spanish keeper admits he's never doubted his own
    ability.

"It was important not just for me to keep a clean sheet, but the whole
team. It's better news for us," he says.

"As a goalkeeper, I know I always have to walk the line between making
a mistake and making a save.

"I made a mistake on Saturday, but I always try to forget about it
    quickly.

"That's harder after a derby when there are people to remind you what
happened. I know it was a mistake in an important game, but you just
    have to keep on going.

"I have experience, and I have made mistakes before and recovered. I
    have belief in myself."

Goalkeepers are all prone to the odd blunder and you don't realy notice them unless they all come at once - like Pepe's. I do get visions of Westerveld though . .
It's my job to handle life and death situations on a daily basis. It's what I do, and I'm very good at it.

I guess the point is, teh blunder didn't cost us the match, we were **** enough without it...so why do we need to keep harping on about it. Players make mistakes. Pepe was outstanding last season...let's keep that in mind.

He made another 2 against PSV that we were lucky to get away with.Coming miles out for the ball and getting either nowhere near it or a **** punch on it whilst clattering into Jamie and taking him out of the game.He may think he's put it behind him but the clown in him is still there waiting for his next chance to shine

He hammered the ball a fair distance both times and did what he always does - make a decision and sticks to it.

As for the clown bit - have a word with yourself will you. The lad kept 29 clean sheets last season and was absolutely tremendous. And but for his goalkeeping we wouldn't have played PSV the other night.

Shush - Carra's a Scouser though. Like Stevie, he's bullet-proof. In some eyes.
