they still own the club, dont they, therefore they can do pretty much what they want with it, its totally up to them and yes, as you say, they do hold all of the cards, when you hold all of the cards, aces are generally includedOriginally posted by Alpha View PostWith each passing day, the tide turns a little more against the Americans.
1.) Rift between themselves.
2.) Opposition from the support and the press.
3.) Stock market fall.
4.) Refinancing difficulty.
4.) League position.
5.) Suffering team morale.
5.) PR disasters.
They might hold all the cards, but those cards aren't exactly aces.

ah I see, the main thing for me is I don't think they can see the building of a stadium through, lets not forget here this initial loan is only to cover the club and the summer signings and the starting costs of the stadium, there's gonna be another 300 odd million costs for the stadium, that'll be around £600 mil debt on the club, I don't think they've got the assets to cover that, and how scary would it be to imagine the club loaded with all thatOriginally posted by ronniedrew View Postno doubt morph, but re-read my post above re valuation etcThomas Hicks Senior

Scarier woud be them starting the new ground and then finding out they can't secure the funds to complete it, I'm starting to see this as a possibility.Originally posted by Morph View Postah I see, the main thing for me is I don't think they can see the building of a stadium through, lets not forget here this initial loan is only to cover the club and the summer signings and the starting costs of the stadium, there's gonna be another 300 odd million costs for the stadium, that'll be around £600 mil debt on the club, I don't think they've got the assets to cover that, and how scary would it be to imagine the club loaded with all that

Watched Charlie Wilson's War last night which made a very good point.
Sometimes something happens apparently for the best, but a few years later it's not. I'd rather have DIC than H&G, but I think we'll come to despise them sooner rather than later.
They're a Private Equity firm - they want to buy the club with huge debt, turn it around, and sell without investing that much themselves....Quote of the year :
"With monkey me, dogface dishwasher bitch and chimp the ****ing champ you. We are turning into a raving party here arent we"

The protests tonight were embarrassing. RTK makes me cringe in it's incredibly crass naïvety. The Mancs and Blue****es are absolutely pissing themselves at this club and us, the fans.
Rafa has played you all brilliantly using the uncertainty behind the scenes to hide his increasingly negative tactics and baffling team selections. Is it the Yanks who keep picking Kuyt instead of Crouch? Was it them that decided to put Crouch on with only ten minutes to go? Did Hicks and Gillett play Kewell ahead of Babel? And yet the Kop continue to chant Rafa's name...
...****ing unbelievable...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Chill mate. The whole thing is about sorting 1 problem ata time, G&H need to go before anything. On the match point though I would have liked yossi to have stayed on a bit longer and someone else [cough]Kuyt[/cough] come off.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostThe protests tonight were embarrassing. No...but it is the owners who are about to put almost £350m worth of debt against the clubs books when they said they wouldn't.Originally posted by rushscored4 View PostThe protests tonight were embarrassing. Now, I'm not going to claim to have all the facts because I don't but what they're currently propsing could potentially end up doing worse damage to the club than a dodgy team selection.

For those who couldn't make it out, there were three main songs in my bit of the Kop.
They don't care about Rafa
They don't care about fans
Liverpool Football Club
Is in the wrong hands
Get out of our club
Get out of our club
You lying *******s
Get out of our club
and,
Tom Hicks
He's got a big fat head
He's got a big fat head
He's got a big fat head
I've got mixed feelings. I'm glad that the owners will have heard the views of the fans, but on the other hand, it felt a bit odd, as if it's not the sort of thing we should really be doing. It's not very Liverpool like to have protests against the chairman on the Kop, and it's sad what they have reduced us to.
