Probably just another rumour, but Micky Quinn on the radio this morning said he'd heard that DIC were prepared to wait until G&H had been through the pain of re-financing before they put in a bid.

Thanks for posting and I am not suggesting you shouldn't but we have and will see a lot of this until something is announced officially or DIC walk away.

I've only dipped in and out of this thread so apologies if similar sentiments have been alluded to. It wasn't something I'd heard before.

None of us know the facts, only the speculation from the media. I'm not burying my head in the sand but I'm also not jumping to any conclusions just because of hearsay I've read in the newspapers. Christ, we all rightly condemned the S*n for the **** it wrote 19 years ago yet we'll believe anything that is said about the Yanks because it's "in the papers" so it must be true. "No smoke without fire", eh?

And NICKZS, the result tonight has got nothing to do with my opinion. I've always backed Rafa, almost blindly at times, but how can we blame the Yanks for the problems on the field? Rafa bought most of the players, he sets the tactics, he picks the team and it's his job to get the most out of them.

Is it Gillett & Hicks' fault we're 14 points behind the Mancs and out of the title race in January (again)? Is it their fault we've drawn 4 league games in a row and we're not even in a Champions League place? I've always believed Rafa is a genius and he still is - a genius at subterfuge...

I would say that it has affected our season.

Rafa must have known b4 the Reading match that there was a Klinsman man approach becos he did one thing he has never done since he has been @ Liverpool: gave up a match after 60mins becos of the CL game on the Tuesday. To me, that was the beginning of this downturn. He must have known that losing the Marseille match will result in the sack.

Would there have been protests about the Yanks tonight if we were top of the league?

Who would have got the praise if we were top?

So whose fault is it we're not top of the league?

Who's getting the blame?

If the Yanks had done what they promised and backed rafa as they promised then I honestly believe we would be doing better in the league and i also believe the spat between them and Rafa has also had a negative impact on our points tally.

So yes, I do blame G&H and I do give Rafa the benefit of the doubt. That does not make me gullible, it is simply an opinion. I also think the debt issue is much more pressing than our current league standing. Broken promises and lies. That is why the fans have turned against G&H.

You could quite easily be accused of being gullible for swallowing the bull**** of G&H. But I won't call you that because everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I think Rafa has been under a lot of pressure recently and them talking to Klinsmann has only upped that pressure I would think. Hicks even alluded that Klinsmann would have replaced Rafa if he had not qualified for the knockout stages.

That's a very good point on reflection. Hope DJS reads it, especially as he is in a rare ProRafa frame of mind (although that was last night).

OK, let's clear a few points up here. I am not pro-G&H, far from it. I'm not even pro-DIC as I don't know enough about them other than they are ruthless businessmen and would do anything to get what they want.

Also, I am definitely not anti-Rafa Benitez.

All I am saying is that there are better ways of making your point rather than protesting like this in public. Only a week or two ago Hicks was condemned by many for "doing his dirty washing in public" and how it wasn't "the Liverpool Way". Well WTF are RTK doing?!

Finally, I am not blaming Rafa entirely for our poor recent results but what better way to paper over the cracks than to deflect the criticism through your mates in the media onto other people? I bet Mourinho wishes he'd done that now. And Jol. And especially Allardyce...

Believe me, no-one on this site is more passionate about our great club than me but sometimes you have to think for yourself and not just follow blindly like the rest of the sheep...

But even our captain have admitted that this current crises is affecting the players, if take a read in the telegraph

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admitted last night that the off-field problems were affecting the players, saying: "We know what's going on, but as players you've got a job to do on the pitch and you try to put what's going on off the pitch to the back of your mind. But sometimes it's impossible, when it is every day." (from the david bond article on the page before)

I think it is definitly getting to the players and the manager all this. Stability is one of the most important things in football, so it must be though on them.

Of course they have not been playing well, and you could blame them for not being able to put it behind them, but in the end I still think that G&H have a lot to say in this matter...
