Tom, I have taken stick and will take even more if this doesn't happen but i have been talking about DIC being back in for months. But in the past two weeks Hicks has openly courted DIC but says the opposite in public. That's why I am certain my blokes are right, it is just a matter of days. He who blinks first basically.

Dic Takeover To Be Finalised Within 3 Weeks

As per Garry Richardson's revelation yesterday morning on Sportsweek. It seems pretty certain that the deal will be done and that Waldorf and Statler are holding out for more money. The Yanks want out, DIC want in and a compromise will be made. I just hope that when the Muppets leave that they take Rick Parry with them. Of course he has a choice. If he gets his loans then he is in a position of strength. His ego will not allow him to walk away with anything but a fat wallet. HICKS isn't a pushover. Far from it.

It's not in the RBS's interest for there to be a default either, they may not even get the full loan back in a fire sale. Nor would they want the expenses of running the business either

If I'm going to loan £300m, I would want to know the assets are there to cover it. And surely personal assets (i.e. a deposit) is preferable to being 100% or close to 100% secured on a business/property.

I actually don't think they'll care, either way RBS will money. RBS have taken possession of and sold going concerns before, including the Doncasters Group... to DIC.
