The Sheikh. It's his play thing.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

          And?

I see they're both semi-successful - regularly qualify for play-offs but not good enough to win. Is that essentially the problem here?

The stables are the 'Skeik' (sheikh), they are his plaything and thus he spends a lot of money and time ensuring they are the best stables in the world.

However if you see how under his leadership Dubai has changed, how Emirates the aeroplane company has become a world leader how many of the company's DIC have invested in have become big successes i very much doubt they would let Liverpool FC fall by the wayside.
            We come not to play.

At the end of the day...

              1) Hicks has a terrible record with sports franchises. Their fans want him out of their clubs as well.
              2) He's made us an embarrassment in a short space of time, likewise he's undermined the manager and pissed off the squad (you said the latter wouldn't happen).
              3) G&H apparently seem not to have the financial clout to run this club whereas DIC have undoubtedly superior resources.
              4) G&H have lied about several things - no debt on the club, the stadium etc. Big huge slimy FAT lies.
              5) DIC have acted in a dignified way so far and if you look at Goldophin and other businesses you can see how successful they can be in sport.
              6) Their main man seems to also be a fan as well.

That's just some of the points. Like i said devil's advocate.

In fairness, that sounds like a pretty substantial problem.

The way I see it the DIC will probably sell us in less than 10 years. They will however want to sell us for a profit and to do that we need a new stadium and a successful team, garnering a more than average share of the TV money going around. If we have new owners in 10 years but are in a far better position thanks to the DIC then so be it.

?! First time I've joined this conversation!

All I'm pointing out is DIC will finance the club in exactly the same way and the club will need to meet those payments.

The difference is that we believe that DIC can absorb any shocks if we have a bad year and will stick a load of money in the club for transfers. (speculate to accumulate that's been mentioned). How do we know that these transfers won't be financed by more loans on the club?!

I'm confident that DIC will be a better prospect, however I'm also wary that there's a chance that not much will change...... except £100m+ will flow out to a couple of americans as profit.

Pure speculation. We have no idea how they expect to finance the stadium and the club.

OK, it's speculation based on the fact that they are a private equity firm and that's how they (all PE firms as well as DIC) generally do business....

At best they might be a variation on a theme - using more of their own capital. I would be gob-smacked if they invested the sort of sums £2-300m+ required of their own money - is there ANY evidence that they would?

Hang about - isn't this kind of important to Liverpool fans wanting G&H out?! Debt on the club
