what planet do you live on tom? How many of these things have happened????....NONE

I offer you a £30 charity bet - ON EACH POINT - that on sat august 9th 2008, rafa is still our manager, mascher is still our player and lfc still exists as a football club

can i also clarify you last quote - which is the same one i have heard

"“The situation in the credit markets has not affected our design, programme, or implementation of building our new stadium" "

leaves a lot of room for it to have affected the cost and funding structure does it not???

I think if you call this a lie then youre misinterpreting it: the stadium will happen with a design same/similar to pre crunch and with the same timescale - thats consistent with what the yank said

just a thought, but it's been said that they'll anounce the deal for the loan and stadium plans together.and we're led to believe this is tomorrow, well wouldn't we have heard of a press conferance being called at anfield tomorrow by now?
            who's arsed?

I don't think it will happen now. Just can't see it. Can't see them announcing new financing then selling a week later. They'd look like right idiots...even bigger idiots than they already look

"People are worried that I might take money away from the Texas Rangers to go to Liverpool," Hicks said.

"But it is just the reverse. Liverpool is going to throw off lots of extra money which, if I choose to, I can use for the Rangers or the Dallas Stars ice hockey team."

How about throwing the extra money back to pay off the debt then knobhead.

                  Or buy a monster..

you say that but anything like this they'll want to do it at anfield.

Funny how Moores and Parry thought these two were right people to sell the family silver to. I would like to know how they reached that decision

Yes, it is a good point by RS4.
Rafa plays the game, and Hicks tired to play it too.

BUT you have to consider why Rafa decided to play the game and spread rumours. That was because the owners went back on their promises when they took over. He called their bluff, and they didn't ****ing like it!

Rafa has the cojones of an elephant and confronted them, and for that we should be grateful.

They were probably impressed by the speed of which they completed due diligence in only 3 days

                          :whatever:
They've won the league, bigger stars than Dallas, they've got more silver than Buckhingham Palace, no one knows quite what to expect, when the Red Machine's in full effect!

To be honest though he is just trying to quiet the fears of some other highly biased fans. He said 'if I choose' which indicates to me that he was not wanting to make any promises. Obviously there is an aspect of the fact that he seems to not understand the way football finances work which is a shame but all this indicates to me is that he intends to run us as a profit making enterpise - is anyone really surprised by that?

To be honest I find the information about South American football clubs and TV deals much more concerning than this quote. We have seen first hand that he is a less than foresightful media operator.

No trying to be devil's advocate here, but Hicks hasn't really said 'I am going to'...

"People are worried that I might take money away from the Texas Rangers to go to Liverpool," Hicks said.

"But it is just the reverse. Liverpool is going to throw off lots of extra money which, if I choose to, I can use for the Rangers or the Dallas Stars ice hockey team."

I'm not saying this that or the other (and these quotes are 6 months old), I'm merely pointing out that he hasn't said 'Im going to use that extra money'...but hey, I'm just trying to be a bit objective, so don't slate me for merely pointing that out.
