    Balls. Misread it.

The idea that Hicks and Gillett have fallen out and can become financially detached from one another runs through everything I've read and heard in the last two or three days.

Whether it will happen is anybody's guess. I think there's a lot of wishful thinking going on here though.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Mebbs in the long term aye, but mebbe not til the DIc but-out was over 50%

I agree I can't see Hicks wanting to sell.

          Wow.

          A very interesting development.

If DIC did buy out Hicks I think it would be the best for all concerned.

If Gillette doesnt sign up to the new loan it could force a situation where Hicks might have to sell.

Good news that they're still after us, getting us is another matter entirely though.

Cannot see a partnership between DIC & the outspoken bombastic cunt that is Hicks working to be honest.

GG has been quieter so that might have more milage, but this article just seems like yet more speculations sadly.

There has also been a reticence from honorary life president and former chairman David Moores and Parry to sign up to a refinancing package which will plunge the club into hundreds of millions of pounds of debt.

Also qouted from The Echo. Is it possible that Moores and Parry could stop the Yanks placing debt on the club? If so, well done Moores and Parry.

Thing is about this, Gillett is the one without the financial means to offer security for the re-finance, not Hicks. So, logically, is it not Gillett who should be looking to sell? And why would DIC want to be in partnership with him, if his financial means are insufficient for the club?

My head's starting to hurt again - I have difficulty in coming to terms with how DIC would treat the club any different to the septics (except they have a fan on board - and the cash) and a melange of the two sends me reaching (or should that be retching) for the anti headache tablets again.

Swot I thought, but how will GG afford the capital to plough in with DIC if he cannot now. Unless, that is, GG maintains say 30% & DIC buys out Hicks plus 20% of GG, giving them majority shareholding.

I think Moores and Parry, when they agreed this deal, probably had an altruistic purpse to wanting a takeover where they stay on board at the club. They probably thought that if they still had some say in the way the club is run, that the Liverpool Way could be maintained, the traditional Liverpool methods and values would be upheld. Unfortuantely it hasn't proven that way, so if they have any vote in the boardroom, they should frustrate this refinance and prevent the club being burdened with massive debt, seeing as they clearly made the wrong decision to sell to these two pricks
