Swot I thought, but how will GG afford the capital to plough in with DIC if he cannot now. Unless, that is, GG maintains say 30% & DIC buys out Hicks plus 20% of GG, giving them majority shareholding.

The immediate objective is to get rid of Hicks. Once he is one I reckon G will sell down his stake progressively

I think the appeal of DIC is that they're more than likely not going to make ridiculous decisions like Hicks is doing. The method of paying for the stadium is likely to be near identical - it is regardless of who's owning the club. Perhaps DIC will understand the need to pump more money into the club for player purchases while the new stadium is offline. But that's speculation!

But atleast these guys have the finacial power to back the manager in the transfer market. Something the Americans don't imo.

doesnt everyone think its odd that DIC have leaked this bid details to the press as normally everything is done very hush hush.

I think this might have to do with Hicks' reluctance to sell. I think DIC are asking for the fans support in persuading Hicks to sell his share. Do they want us to carry on with our protests and demonstrations etc or are they simply letting the fans know that they are on the case ?

I dont see that they would be concerned with us at this stage to be honest.

DIC would probably also make us miles better off the pitch, better sponsorship deals, better price for the name of the new stadium and so on.

They have contacts all over the world so they would get in the best people to take care of that.

we have made the mistake of joint ownership once already, lets not make the same mistake again.

If a takeover does happen it has got to be for 100% or we are no better off than where we currently are

DIC would never release something like this if it wasn't almost a done deal IMO. The price would go up if they did that.

i think it also depends on how strapped for cash/credit hicks is with some of his other enterprises

Hicks may have been the one spouting off but Gillett was in the meeting with Klinsmann too.

He's certainly no angel.

We need them both out, although getting Hicks out would be a good start.
