Fair point, agree about the safety, and at least we're not expecting them to be massively generous with their money.... although we can always hope

WOW, great great point, i was trying to think of a way that pressure could be applied to Hick's, even better if DIC jump into bed with Gillette to Oust Hick's. Come on GEORGE do the right thing, spanner, works, etc.

even without the money you always get a sense of integrity that the Dic people would bring

If DIC buy Hicks stake in the club it surely is the precursor to a full takeover. I can't see how a shared ownership would work with Gillette as he obviously cannot afford to be involved in the club.

thats how i understand it too. DIC have agreed on the offer they will put to the Hick.

When they make their offer then the deal will more or less be done and dusted IMO.

I dont quite understand how a partnership would work. On the one hand you have DIC - with almost limitless ammounts of money. And then on the other theres Gillett who is apparently struggling to meet his own loan repayments. DIC surely arent going to put in more money for transfers/the stadium than Gillett.

Confusing. But I want Hicks out as much as everyone else so Im hoping this happens.

I prefer the idea, but think I'd want to see their proposal

They would obviously finance the stadium with loans but against their own assetts I imagine

doesnt everyone think its odd that DIC have leaked this bid details to the press as normally everything is done very hush hush.

I think this might have to do with Hicks' reluctance to sell. I think DIC are asking for the fans support in persuading Hicks to sell his share. Do they want us to carry on with our protests and demonstrations etc or are they simply letting the fans know that they are on the case ?

Not expecting that at all, wouldn't particularly want it either. I just want us to be competitive in the market with Man U and Chelsea, spend £40m - £50m in the summer transfer window, which even the likes of Sunderland are doing (and we currently aren't doing IMO), but I would hate to see us become like Chelsea a couple of years back and spending £90m in one summer and basically become a circus like them. That for me, is not football, and it's not Liverpool.

Suddenly our hope is down to one man, Gillett. Who would have thought that a few days ago?
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Well, presently it cannot be much worse, but personally (& I may well be being naive here cos at the moment we really need somthing to cheer us up), I think that they will think on a bigger scale (being far richer) & be able to burden the risk whilst we grow into something really really profitable for them.

Obviously they are in it for the profit more than the prestige, but if they are able to make us siginifacntly more profitable than the Septics then it doesnt matter if they cream off some of that money, so long as they are also investing sufficient back into making us a higly succesful team.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

                              Well, that's what I'm suggesting isn't guaranteed

We can hope, but there's no guarantee.

I think the appeal of DIC is that they're more than likely not going to make ridiculous decisions like Hicks is doing. The method of paying for the stadium is likely to be near identical - it is regardless of who's owning the club. Perhaps DIC will understand the need to pump more money into the club for player purchases while the new stadium is offline. But that's speculation!
