You have to look at the bigger picture though. If they want to use LFC to promote Dubai then the profit is hard to measure!!Originally posted by AFII View PostSo £500m for the club and £300m-£400m for a new stadium. I really can't see them making any profit on that for a long time.Dare we believe

Wow,thats the best post and most intriguing view i've read in 30 odd pages of this ####.Thats just provoked a whole new school of thought for me.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostI think many of us have underestimted Rafa's role in all of this. I know I have. In hindsight it would seem that Rafa's played a blinder in the media. Sounds like he purposely provoked the Yanks and they took the bait. Ever since that day fans started to turn and that gathered momentum. I only saw the light after the Klinsmann revelations....
I like.
Rafa has seen these ##### for what they really are about and dared to question them.Put up of shut up.Genius.

This potential news ahs really cheered me up. If it ultimately ends up being Parry's great triumph, ala Johnson and Civil Rights, Nixon and China and Blair and Ireland then I think it is a reasonable legacy.Originally posted by Tom View PostAl answari is personally on very good terms with Rick Parry. Unfortunately for Parry, DIC aren't that impressed with him as an executive. Total clear-out top to bottome will be the order of the day. May even include the manager - though that last part is pure speculation.
Don't misunderstand my meaning here. It think the localised scale for the club could be on equivilant to the events listed above, although I am not suggesting that the significance is a true parrallel. More of an embattled individual actually contrubuting something positive among a career of public scorn. I have a degree of sympathy for Parry and think the ridicule he often held in is excessively hard. It was impossible for him to see how the american adventure would pan out. I don't really feel he is anywhere near the level of incompitance often leveled at him and have really been desperate for him to demonstrate this and turn his own public fortunes around (in the same way that I have always been desperate for Kewell and Pennant to succeed).
Anyway if this does come off, and Parry has actually played a major part in engineering this then I hope he is looked upon in a good light when we evaluate his part in our clubs history in the years to come.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

That's what you heard?! Surely there is no way in hell that this has even been on the table yet. I honestly can't see how it could be anything else than idle speculation. It's painfully obvious that Rafa will probably stay if DIC takes over but that's another issue.

Rafa Benitez i salute you, whether or not we are taken over by new owners we will find out in the coming days but looking back at your relationship with the owners you spoke from the heart, you spoke with integrity and genuinity you let the fans know all wasn't well, would we have known otherwise, probably but when, when the club was on its knees more than likely.
Thank you Rafa -Legend-

It's an exercise in brinkmanship by Hicks.
They need the refinancing loan so they are apparently pulling out all the stops to get it.
He'll have to secure the debt on the club's assets.
Moores has a verbal agreement that they won't do that as part of the takeover. A verbal contract is as powerful (or not) as a written one.
Gillett could go wither way, but if Gillett backs Moores then Hicks won't be able to secure the loan on the clubs assets. If this happens they'll have to use personal assets to secure the loan.
And all the time this huge offer waits in the background from DIC....
They'll sell up, just a question of when

the islam faith prohibits alcohol so i would imagine that LFC would buy out carlsberg much like kenyon did with whoever sponsored the chavs prior to samsung.Originally posted by bobbyfallon View Postnot too up to date on their beliefs (i thought it was just in their country no ? )

i'd fully expect some kind of "visit dubai" type sponsor- IF DIC want to promote Dubai rather than make huge revenue from some other new non alcohol sponsor"At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques"
