Just been some news on Al-jazeera news channel and they are reporting that Hicks himself is the one who invited DIC to make this bid which sounds very strange

I 'scooped' this one a couple of hours ago Maybe Al-Jazeera are monitoring these forums

I would imagine they are very proud and powerfull people, they would hate to make two approaches for LFC and fail twice, they could view it as somewhat of an embarrasment. Which they will not like. I think they could offer them both up to £100m in profit to sell on.

Totally agree, the Arabs would be very embarrassed if they fail a second time and the fact that they have been the ones putting this story out to the media suggests to me that they've made considerable progress.

That's why i think that there is a good deal of this going through. Woulnd't bid again if they didn't think there was a strong possibility that their bid would be accepted

As i said a few pages back, there's been several reports from Arabic media (mainly tv) that Hicks invited DIC to make a bid, as he seems ready to take his profit and run.
