its possible that gillett realises that this investment is probably beyond his means and has initimated to DIC that he is ready to sell his stake in the club because of financial and non-financial matters. Hence the complete takeover attempt from them.

Depends on what their offer is?Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostHow would this bid work then?
If one of Hicks/Gillett reject to sell their shares, would it be possible for DIC to get 50% if the other one wants to accept the bid? Or is it a simple accept or reject process...
Are they just offering to buy Hick's shares or do they want 100% control? In Rafa I Trust

I do not think anyone has mentioned this: if they do not get the loans, they loose the club to RBS. If RBS know that they will geta £100M profit, why should they give them the loans?

So £500m for the club and £300m-£400m for a new stadium. I really can't see them making any profit on that for a long time.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It has been suggested that both owners have a first option on the others share. In other words, Gillett selling to DIC is not likely as Hicks will offer to take full control - it has to be Hicks selling, either to DIC or possibly to a DIC backed Gillett.Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostHow would this bid work then?

I am not sure. The more I look at it, the more I think that this offer makes no economic sense.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostThe bid is obviously a concrete one, over to H&G.
Gut feeling is they ill sell but maybe thats wishful thinking.
Hard to understand DIC on this though. If they now think the clubs worht £500m why didn't their bid last year approach this figure. If it had of done we wouldn't be in this current mess. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Might this have something to do with the club having a share price and so they could use that as a marker. I would presume as a business they wouldnt have wanted to pay too far over the odds at the time. Things have changed though nd now the price has increased. Its their penalty as such.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostHard to understand DIC on this though. If they now think the clubs worht £500m why didn't their bid last year approach this figure. they have been struggling to re-finance the initial amount. The banks will just laugh him off if he asks for another £100m plus.Originally posted by AFII View PostHe will probably take a loan against the club.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
