Yea i know the method and like i said it won't make much difference over the next 4 years, just wasn't sure on the actual figures. I'll use a mortgage calculator rather than my head next time.
Ooops sorry fella no offence intended, thought that was what you were asking
sad thing is that we were all crying out for investment a couple of years ago, mainly so rafa would have the extra money to splash on a world class player or two like Torres - (rather than the usual Kuyt/Cisse/Crouch/Voronin/Morientes) - which we know is what will get us closer to #19
now the club is going from having £40 million in debt to anywhere from £300-$500 million debt imposed on us if not directly then indirectly through interest payments etc.
DIC aren't here to save us, at the end of the day if they are buying this club for £500 million then they think they can sell for £1 billion a few years down the road. The only way that is going to happen is if they increase revenue streams by raping the club and fans with increased ticket prices/payperview/naming rights (The Coca-Cola Kop anyone?) etc. In the end the fans are paying for this little merry-go-round among fabulously wealthy people.
Who wins out of this? Not us. David Moores did alright though, £170-odd million burning a hole in his wallet.
Can't help thinking that we might have been better off going a different route - shared new stadium with the bluenoses? - steve morgan investing a chunk of cash for a share of the company? Hindsight is 20/20 obviously but as a fan it just makes me sad to think how ballsed up this thing is.
Good post.
I'm not sure if it's 'long-thread' fatigue, dis-interest or intentional avoidance by the posters but there is very little concern (or consideration, even?) being voiced regarding what DIC bring to the LFC party.
I can only assume - and hope - that for the short term they would be good for the club. But in 10 years time? I do wonder whether a smaller-time, local investor would have been a more managable proposition for the club....

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left
From what i have been told they will try to complete the refinancing and then sell up immediately. Which ties in with other info i have regarding how badly things have deteriorated behind the scenes.
Shockingly the press are right on how bad things are, infact they dont even seem to have revealed half of it yet.
I fully expect the Yanks to be gone by the summer at the latest now
God I hope they are gone much sooner than the summer. If it drags on that long I think there may even be a chance we wont be playing Champions League football next year. The sooner we get this sorted out the sooner our form will pick up.
Thing is the future of the club is more important than our current form. But its important that we keep applying the pressure and get rid of these mugs. It will happen, just a matter of time

"Taking a break" from the CL may not be a bad thing for one season. It may force the Yanks to sell and would also force Rafa to concentrate on winning No.19.

Well I would happily sacrifice a season in the Champions League if it meant bringing home no. 19
Hello all, i have a bit of an update that i heard today but this is the first time i have been able to access a PC.
Anyway am sticking my neck out here, so i don't want people to start asking questions as what i know and what i can divulge is in this post.
Basically DIC are now in direct contact with the owners in a bid to buy Kop Football Ltd, advisors who worked on the previous deal are working closely with them to broker the right deal for all partys. Direct dialogue is now taking place and it is hoped that providing everything is right DIC will make a formal bid for the club may be in the next few days.
However it is believed Hicks may use the interest to secure his loan, i.e. meaning he is able to show the bank there is a way out if it goes wrong.
I have to also point out that dispite rumours of a rift between Gillet and Hicks this is very wrong and they are still working closely on securing their refinance package deal hence the above.
Also on a different note, these Crouch rumours have more back bone to them then you think and i know Harry Redknapp has denied it but there has been contact between the clubs.
This is an extremely delayed reaction, but I've just realised I was called 'obsessed' by someone who's spent most of the last week bleating on about what his journalist mates think and posting about 10 anti-Hicks articles per day
