I wonder though if he's involved this time round as well. Because they were kept in the background last time round until the bid had failed. It would be great to have another hardcore red along with Ansari involved.

I dont think LFC are in the same revenue group as Sony/HSBC/DCM but I see what you are saying, the quality of the investor makes a big difference. The point myself and several other posters have been trying to make is that they are very serious investors and will not simply throw millions and millions at the club without a return.

The big difference between DIC and G&H is that they have shareholders to report to, and if my understanding is correct, those shareholders being the Royal Family of Dubai

We're not ever likely to generate as much money as Sony etc but when you take into account the % shareholding and the cost of that shareholding, then the revenue/profit that we should be able to generate would be of comparison to those companies. We are equally recognisable around the world though.

We have the capacity to generate similar sums to that of which Utd are making but we need a fair bit of short-term investment in the squad and the ground before we can do that. G&H don't have the means and seemingly the will to stump up that investment we need to fulfil our potential where as DIC certainly do have the means and im pretty confident that they would also be willing to stump up the money but like you say with the intention of the club being financially successfull in the long-term. But like you say its not going to be a Chelsea style spending spree.

Another point i forgot to mention about the differences between DIC and G&H is that DIC are likely to buy the club with state funds which will mean significantly lower interest repayments and more than likely much less debt.

Have to agree with that Jim. Gerrard needs to be professional. Yes he may be worried about whether the manager is leaving or whether his partner in CM will ever be signed but that shouldn't affect his ability to play.

I don't doubt he's throughly professional in all he does but he's a human, subject to the same emotions and feelings as the rest of us.

Exactly, you can't account for or control your sub-concious, the human mind is a vast computer of cells, when a programme conflicts with another you get annomollies, faults, mistakes you can't explain. You wont even know it's affecting you at the time, but it does, take Torres, just made a big move, 6yr contract, now this happens, it took the lad years to decide to leave Spain, he would'nt have expected this.

Agree fully and it will in some way be affecting him. He can't help it, how well he's able to deal with it is part personality and part education.

We have to be careful not to let the players use this as an excuse. I remember Lee Bowyer having an amazing season when he was on bail for a racially motivated GBH. Some players need to grow some balls to go with their £100K pay packets. The team is playing **** because we aren't that good and the manager has maybe taken his eye of the ball while he is fighting the owners.

And Woodgate had a crap year at the same time under the same circumstances!

Different personalities deal with problems in different ways, we all react to the same stimuli in different ways, telling some people to "man up" is exactly the wrong thing to do and will lead to even worse performance I suspect Gerrard is one of those. He needs security and someone to tell him he's wanted and doing ok. Carra looks like he'd hate that and would respond to a ood old fashioned bawling out!

I don't think it changes anything with regards the sale but it strengthens Hicks' hand as he will have breathing space and time to get more money from DIC. It is not good news.

The article like what I broke out is based on assumption not fact. If they do get their way, Rafa may be out in the summer.
