Just heard on radio City sport that the chairman of DIC has said that if they do take over Rafa's job isn't guaranteed, and he's gonna have to prove he's the right man for the job!
Seems reasonable, give him the resources, if he doesn't deliver then you can't ask for more

Didn't Bascombe, or was it the Echo, say that in some "weird" way it would be cheaper/benaficial for DIC to wait until after the yanks had the refinancial deal in place.
It certainly have been suggested, (on mnday or tuesday i belive)that DIC will pounce when refinancing is in place.

If this is true and DIC are talking to the press they're obviously still interested.

If that is true (which at this point, even after a take-over, cannot be confirmed), then I already am still heavily reserving my judgement on the DICs, as I have mentioned in previous threads. Just image they came in, everyone had fifty wanks over theirs taking over just for them to announce 'Well, Rafa's a goner, cheers, cya, Mourinho, hello' or some ****. I'd detest them straight off.
So people should be a bit more wary of DIC. Not as a threat, just as a possible reminder that it might not be the fairytale perfect match everyone's making it out to be.

If they get their refinancing it'll just be a case of sitting back and waiting for the Americans to realise they can't afford the repayments. Then they will be selling from a poition of desperation. They will only have to pay the going rate.
If they bid before the refinancing deadline they will have to give the yanks a lot more money, basically what the Yanks think they can realistically make from the club.
I can see the logic that it will be cheaper for DIC to wait, unless the Yanks don't get their loan or they BOTH see sense that they are biting off more than they can chew.

Of course he has to prove his worth.
Just give him the chance to though.

I hate hypothetical arguments, but with Rafa being the talking point, if this were the case (ie. if they didn't even give Rafa a chance) then they could **** RIGHT OFF. I would not be a happy camper - at all.
The way I see it they don't have an option but to get the loan, with just under 2 weeks to go until the original loan is to be repayed it is essential. Any purchase will not be done in less than this time so loan or lose the club with no profit.

What if Rafa took us to 6th place in the Prem this season, and we went out to Inter in the CL.
Would you expect DIC to hand over £xxx Million to him in the summer without at least thinking about his future?
Tom, you seem to have an inability to handle opinions that differ from your own, particularly when they're perfectly reasonable
You've changed.
I think you'll find that my opinion is the majority opinion on here Darren. I also think you find that I generally back my opinion and disagreements up with evidence. You may not accept the evidence but I don't just rant at people like you suggest.
Some of us on here are desperately worried about the club. Fortunately some of us are actually making concrete efforts to secure its future.
If we fail to qualify, either Rafa or another manager will have much less money to play with, and without CL footy, we won't be able to attract the same calibre of player as the CL sides.
Therefore we'll be stuck with the current mediocre players, or we'll only have enough funds to bring in yet more mediocre players.
Then it'll be harder to get a top 4 place...
No matter who the owners are, or who the manager is, CL football is a MUST.
With these two cunts in charge, i doubt we'll be bidding for any world class players for a long time. Torres and Babbel were bought with loans, and Masch who IMO is a bargain at 17mil seems to be on his way.
RBS have over 20,000 people working for them in the UK alone so I'd be more surprised if you didn't know someone who worked for them! Sorry fella but the chances of someone as junior as your mate knowing what's going on with a massive corporate deal like this is about as likely as Tom Hicks being sent a Valentines Card by Kevin Sampson...
I work for them (in London though) as well and, without blowing my own trumpet, I'm not exactly junior... and I can't find out **** either. Teams dealing with extremely high profile and emotive issues like this know when to keep their mouths shut
I'll keep chipping away though and if I do find anything that I can get on here without risk of being sacked I'll do so

that is physically impossibe and morally wrong
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
So people should be a bit more wary of DIC. Not as a threat, just as a possible reminder that it might not be the fairytale perfect match everyone's making it out to be.
Rather take that risk. Anything to end this nightmare.
