NO NO NO Commonsense. That won't do here

Milky - they will start building very soon. The entire philosophy of Hicks and his business model rests upon the new stadium and the increased revenue. You can slap me around and call me Sussi if we haven't started building in July

So hicks is magically going to whip up new planning permission is he??

I don't see how anyone can believe a single word this compulsive liar has said in the last 48 hours.

Can we just clarify one thing – just because H&G haven’t put physical CASH into the club DOESN’T mean that they haven’t ‘put a penny in’. Loans secured against their own assets is still putting money in.

Again, it’s like us remortgaging to buy a car. I could sell my house and use the cash, but I think we’d all agree that it’s f*cking stupid thing to do.

Of course they are taking the profits. They ****ing own the club. They are building an expensive stadium. What the hell are you on about?

Fine. On the amount secured against their own assets that’s just getting a return – you wouldn’t have a problem if they’d paid in cash.

The amounts secured against the club appear to have (finally!) been for genuine business expenses (stadium and players), so the club would have had to have paid the interest anyway. It’s annoying to many people that it’s not secured against their own assets, but in that situation you’d expect them to get a return.

Of course, they should NOT be taking a dividend if the club doesn’t make enough money – time will tell how they service their personal debt.

They wont be here in 2011 anyways.

So they take the profits from us to repay the loan?

So no money for transfers? Say we finish outside the top 4 this season and fail to get the champions league money... How do they repay the loan then? By selling our star players??

We probably just about make the 30million they need annually to repay the loan... They have ****ed us over

Here we go again. The loans are against the club and the parent company whose only asset is...the club. Any division is nothing but nominal.

Noone sensible has a problem with the club being in debt for the stadium, but that's not the issue. The isssue is that the club is in debt for its own purchase by these cowboys before we have even thought about borrowing for the stadium.

                      Clear enough?
                      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

From what i understand they can start building because a planning application has been granted for that style of stadium BUT with a 60000 capacity, they will have to (as originally planned) re submit for the higher ground capacity this will include feasibility studies in to traffic problems, public transport etc etc.
                          We come not to play.

Invest 40million?? They haven't put a penny of their own money into the club and nor will they do so in the near future.

Nah, they'll get a variation to the existing planning to allow a start on the 61k stadium pretty quickly. The extension to 71k will be more troublesome though, and will involve a detailed transport assessment etc.

They'll start building this year, and will finance it by taking out another loan secured against naming rights and future ticket sales. We'll become the most indebted club in the premiership in relation to turnover for at least a couple of years until the new stadium is up and running.

Unless it's all lies and we'll never get round to starting the digging. But then Hicks and Gillett wouldn't make any money on the deal. The new stadium is key to increasing the value of the club and generating their return.

Exactly, H&G NEED the stadium if they're going to make any money....

That's the issue? We had 60 mill debt when Moores sold. Now we have 105 with some 40 mill£ for the first part of the stadium.

                                I give up

                                The standards have fallen
                                my value has dropped
                                but don't shed a tear
some walk like they own the place
                                whilst others creep in fear
