I met with one of the top marketing guys at DIC earlier this morning, for something completely unrelated (advertising in foreign markets) and since he was English himself, I asked him if he knew what was going on with the Liverpool bid. In his words, "its a matter of when and not if, both sides are bargaining hard over the ££ and the americans have put forward a couple of unrelated demands which intially didn't go down too well with DIC but negotiations are ongoing and we should expect an announcement "sometime soon". I tried to get more out of him but he wouldn't budge. Not that he'd know all the ins and outs anyway as he works in the marketing department. However he did say if DIC had to fork out more from their pockets, they will, however they're reluctant to do this, they'd rather invest that money in the squad/stadium.

Is he a reliable poster?Istanbul:

Hmm, interesting if true. I'd be particularly interested to know what "unrelated demands" the Americans have made?Originally posted by RawRed View PostPosted by danisch on RAWK

Have to say though, rumours of Al Maktoum instructing DIC to get Liverpool, they'll pay whatever it takes, DIC are willing to fork out more if necessary etc could prove detrimental if the yanks get wind of them and decide to be hardline in negotiations and being more unreasonable as a result.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

I have just been speaking to a major finance broker in Liverpool.
He has heard, on good authority, that Gillette has not and will not sign up the the re-financing package. He wants to sell out to DIC.
Local news i.e City and Echo are looking into the story and you can expect to hear more on this soon.Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

Aye seems a bit odd... mind you it's even odder that there would be a press release with Hicks spouting his bits and Gillett nowhere to be seen. You'd have thought he would want to be in on the finance and stadium announcements as the "lead" partner of the two. That's what really makes no sense hereOriginally posted by baz87 View Postlol i don't think he knows what he's talking about. The refinance has already happened and Gillett signed it.
Probably one of those "insider
" rumours that's been nicely designed to fit the circumstances
still would be nice if it were true

Something's gotta be happening here with DIC. It's practically every day now there's something in the media about them taking over. The media do spout **** most of the time to be fair but for this to still be talked about...it just makes you think that it's only a matter of time before we hear something.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Rumour has it that it's to do with some kind of sponsorship or naming rights for the new stadium.-----------------------------------------------

How would that have anything to do with the sale of a club? smells like BS to meOriginally posted by kop-al-74 View PostRumour has it that it's to do with some kind of sponsorship or naming rights for the new stadium.“Hicks could have purchased Dallas’ MLS franchise but decided not to. ‘In hindsight, I probably made the wrong decision,’ he said.“.
