I love cyclones and been out enjoying them in full force a couple of times. It's devastating the damage they do, but such an exciting and beautiful sight ... Seeing mother nature unleash it's fury.

Yeah, i can imagine, we were hurricane free this year, the worst we got was the tail of a tropical storm.

I find it frustrating because I remember the days when this original bunch absolutely blew me away with a level of sensible friendly grown up discussion. I had, had a belly full of the zoo that was .tv canceled my subs and got duped into the kraptalk scam, that said the community was worth it. There was a real pressure to post something substantial and well thought out because nearly all the post were of a realitively high standard. These days its all just negative tripe, even when we win its not good, or worse just gets ignored. Every little mistake is pounced on, members of our squad are subjected to derogatory names and there is a sense that we are entitled to every 3 points. I want the best for this club, I want the club to be the top club domestically and in europe, I have seen progression under rafa both these counts particularly europe, but sometimes it does not go your way and you just have to dust yourself down and get on with it.

Just had a pleasure of keeping up with things in the matchday thread as I have done in one shape or form for 5 years .... I can honestly say a large section of you make me sick ...

From Excellent play to sack everybody this is a joke was instantaneous, no taking into account how the goal came about, were we playing well no just everybody is ****, suddeny the yanks were not the problem it was Rafa... Kuyt who was outstanding first half suddenly was a donkey once again.

You lot are a joke ... have a word with yourselfs ... actually its probally too late .. same ****s who wrote us off in 2 european finals I bet Shocking ..

I'll take that draw, ok so we are out of the race .. we need to concentrate on europe, staying in the top 4 and the fa cup. Get some stability back in the club and bring in the final pieces of the puzzle

I have given up on match threads. It shows how fickle most people are on here, especially those that Lawro referred to as "those who do not go to matches but call the phone ins".

I am just hoping that all this bollix settles down, get a sense of stability back into the club and concentrate on moving forward.

I honestly think the answer to a lot of our woes could be wiped clean if G & H came out and gave Rafa a big extention on his new contract, I'd be very happy to have him with us for the next 5 years .. We need a situation like Wenger had at Arsenal, he needs to be back 110% in every shape possible. The fans have, now its time the club did also.

Wenger earned his trust at Arsenal by winning the league and then doing it again with an almost completely rebuilt side. If Rafa delivered the title this season he would have had a blank cheque and as many years as he wanted to rebuild his side and the club in his image.

The league is more important than *anything* else. We could win the Champions League this season, and next, and the one after without ever mounting a serious title tilt. It would be a glorious achievement, emphasising Rafa's tactical nouse for matches involving contintental opponents, but it would also be a slightly hollow one for those who remember where our "bread & butter" is.

So it depends where your priorities are. Some people love Rafa for what he has done in Europe and his attitude since joining the club. Some people judge him on his performance in the league over the last 3.5 seasons. Those in the latter category are bound to be frustrated, disappointed and not overly optimistic because they frankly have little reason to think different. Come the end of this season we will be 4 years on from Houllier and still no more than a cup team. And that simply is not good enough, no matter how much of a nice man your manager is.

Oh, i strongly disagree with that. Sure Rafa needs to be evaluated at the end of the season, but it was be folly to offer him anything like that at this stage.

We need to see progress/signs of progress. At this stage i'm not sure there is.
