I'm sticking at undecided for the time being. In my opinion H+G have done everything that they could have done to try and put right the problem that, admittedly, they caused. They've secured the financing without the purchasing debt being placed on the club's books. They've put forward concrete plans for the new stadium, though I'd like to see some digging starting as soon as possible to prove that it's actually going ahead, and they've come out with an unequivocal statement of support for Rafa.
Now let's see whether they can back up the words with their actions from now on. IF builiding actually starts this time and IF, Mascher is signed soon as a further signal of support for Rafa, then I'd edge towards saying that we are as well off with them as anyone else...

I would be in the undecided bracket also if that had been there when i voted. Im not necessarily endeared to the Yanks in spite of todays developments but i am prepared to give them a decent chance to mend the damage done over the past few months. Once Masch is signed, the stadium work commences and we're given a decent transfer budget in the summer then i'll be pretty satisfied. Until then, I'm on the fence.Fernando Torres
I dont just love him, I'm IN love with him

The only way that they would be able to win me back over on their side is if they would put the whole debt against themselves and not a single pound against the club.
The stadium is another matter. In that case it would be ok to put the debt against the club.
Then they would have to found Rafa's transfers themselves, say £50m net/season.
Give Rafa a new five year deal with a £100m clause that they would have to pay if they sack him.
Rafa have the final say in all transfer dealings.
Sack Parry.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Would you really give Rafa a five year deal though, when he's already got over 2 years left on this deal, and hasn't managed to produce a title-challenging side in 4 years? If it wasn't for the fuss over the owners, I think there would have been some serious questioning of Rafa on here following the Villa draw that killed off any last hopes of a late challenge.Originally posted by AFII View PostThe only way that they would be able to win me back over on their side is if they would put the whole debt against themselves and not a single pound against the club.

A full statement of support (including talk of backing in the summer transfer market) and some concrete backing with the signing of Mascherano is about as far as I would go. And they've done that. I'd perhaps stretch to a 1 year extension to his current contract at most, just as a sign of committment?

I'm a big Rafa fan but I wouldn't extend his contract at this point - we need to make progress in the next two years in the league. I guess I would consider a performance related option at the end of next year to extend to five or something.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostWould you really give Rafa a five year deal though, when he's already got over 2 years left on this deal, and hasn't managed to produce a title-challenging side in 4 years? I also think that to some extent our poor form has been down to owner related uncertainty - it definitely hasn't helped."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Agree with all of that. Let's see how he gets on next season after being backed in the summer, and with none of this instability off the pitch.Originally posted by dww View PostI'm a big Rafa fan but I wouldn't extend his contract at this point - we need to make progress in the next two years in the league. For that reason alone, I hope DIC either make a bid soon (before the end of the season at least), or sod off. We could do without another season of takeover turmoil if they are thinking of hanging on until next season before making a bid.
