Who has asked for a statement from Hicks, and then derided him for it? Certainly not me.Personally I don't ever want to hear that cunt be mentioned in same breath as Liverpool FC, or ever want him to come out and talk about our club. He thought he was buying a sports franchise, he failed to understand he was getting an institution. The man is not worthy to be the "custodian" of such a great club.

That's exactly what I am judging them on. Their previous promises and their record on delivery.

As someone else on the thread hs already siad I wouldn't trust our owners to deliver a pizza.

They have already broken many of their initial promises to us and with their track record I can see them doing it again.

I wouldn't read too much into todays interview which in my view is just a cynical PR erxercise for Hicks.

He can flap his gob all he wants but I will remain unconvinced until/if he delivers on them.

I dont really see how this is relevant to anything being discussed here, but I read what everyone has posted on this thread about what he said, and I was willing to take it at face value seeing as it was fellow Reds saying and also seeing as everyone was in agreement about what Hicks said.

Just wanted to know how you got to your conclusion, nothing sinister.

In any case mate, I have since heard the interview on 5 Live just before the Man U - Spurs game. I certainly agree with what others have said on here, he sounded far from convincing, especially the last qn when he was asked if he would consider selling to DIC if they made a big enough bid.

It couldn't be more obvious that one-way-or-another, he is trying to **** us over and I despair that any self-respecting Liverpool fan will give Hicks enough benefit of the doubt to take his words at face value.

Why did Hicks refuse to talk about how the debt interest to Kop Holdings was to be serviced in this interview? Why should he? Do any other business owners have to reveal all thier financial goings on in detail?

Why did Hicks' spokensman during the press conference to announce the re-financing also refuse to answer the question - in fact looked very flustered? See answer above

Why did Hick's lie about the initial negotiations with DIC before christmas, when today he's admitted that talks did take place? Did he? Or did he say something along the lines of not entereing into talks about selling out? This alleged meeting last friday....nothing substantive, ie, no takeover/buyout stuff.

What happens in 18 months time when we have to re-finance again? Will even more debt be loaded onto the club? Why dont you ask him for next weeks winning lottery numbers while your at it?

Tom, I'm no apologist for Hicks or Gillette, nor am I some sort of gullible fool who will take everything they say as gospel. I find a little bit of healthy cynacism always helps. But some people need to stop trying to prove how right they were by sneaking little fibs under he rader in the hope they'll turn into the truth (as beieved by the masses). It seems to me that we've got to be cynical about the words coming fro either side of the fence at the moment.

Nothing about "I want to take us back to the top, winning trophies etc etc"

Showed his true colours. Money money money. He's not interested in making Liverpool great again....no I tell a lie, he is, because it'll mean more money for him.

Football used to be just about winning. Now its about how much money you make. I feel quite old now and am beginning to slowly lose interest in the 'beautiful game' as the years tick by.

Not all business owners have ****ed off their customers to the point that they need the PR of a radio interview.

When Hicks made these comments last week, I'm sure he had his reasons for neglecting to mention the 15% talks. But similarly, I will continue to have my reasons for suspecting his absolute lack of transparency.

If Hicks has as little responsibility to forecast future refinancing as you suggest, we are as ****ed as I thought we were.

Steve, the question about whether the interest payments for Kop holding's part of the debt are being fielded by the club are absolutely crucial. This is not some kind of arcane financial matter, as if we are liable for them we are ****ed as far as liquidity is concerned. The fact that we have no public statement on this from Hick's - despite questions being asked is very concerning.

As far as the DIC question is concerned, well you're cutting him a huge amount of slack. In my opinion.
