    Yeah, let's get him in!!!

Even speculation as to the appointment of Mourinho following the sacking of Benitez is an enormous insult to Rafa, more so given he is, actually, still in charge.

Whatever your opinion of him, and whatever his eventual merits, he does not deserve this degrading insult from his own fans.

I find the speculation as to who our next manager should be, in general, quite distasteful.
      Really?

I think Mourhino is the best option. Here is why.

We need a world class manager. One that has proven himself at the highest level. There are not too many of those around. Mourinho is available. I can't think of anyone better.

I also think he has elements of Shankly in him. If he went to Liverpool instead of Chelsea 3 years ago, he would have been thought of here as a legend in no time. We would all love him, and his antics that wind up the opposition. It is because we have been on the end of those antics, that so many people dislike him.

OK - he's a bad loser, but look at Wenger and Fergie, they're all the same.
        Oh I don't know.

If he was challenging for the title at any point in the last 3 years, there would be no debate. I think it is time for a change.

            Eh, Valencia?

Surely you can say the same of Rafa?

How long did it take Ferguson to win the league?

            Exactly
Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

He hasn't been given the same financial backing than Maureen. I think we should judge him on a level playing field. Maureen had a fantastic team when he took over.

I take your points, but I don't think we are going to ever win the league with Rafa. He has improved the squad massively, but there is something missing to enable us to challenge.

These comparisions between Shankly and Mourinho are just wierd. Would any Red have said they were comparible a year ago?

I wasn't exactly thinking of Mourinho 24 hours a day. But he did remind of Shankly when dealing with the media - right from the offset.

JM - "Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one."

Shanks - “Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say, 'We're Liverpool'.”

He's great at dealing with the media. I also think he's a great coach but he won't ever fit in the clubs values.

We should be patient and accept our fate. Until we've got our house in order off the field, I don't think we'll be challenging.

A blueprint has to be in place in order to enable us to make ground and challenge the leaders. Despite the takeover fanfare, we've not been able to compete just as we thought we'd do.
