This is my concern, it would be open to corruption, all of a sudden the luck of the draw could hand a team the league by a couple of points. Very bad idea.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostExactly, lads. The filth draw Derby in New York and we draw Tottenham in Melbourne. Man U predictably win and we lose to Tottenham. As such we miss out on the title by two points to the filth.
Don't worry though it's fair because we knew about it in advance. What a load of ****e. 38 matches, one home, one away, is fair and the proper way. All this stuff is just crap. Horrible and crass.
I'm serious when I say that if these proposals go ahead then that's it for me. Finished with footy entirely.
The point about the top 5 wouldn't play each other make sit even worse, the best way they could do it if they insisted would be to not draw it and instead let the countries/stadiums bid for a game at the begining of the season which would be determind a week before it should happen. That would be game 1 - between position 1 and position 2, game 2 between position 3 and position 4, etc etc.
The whole idea is a joke and would reduce the fainess of the league but this would be the best way.

Top 8 knock-out was just suggested on sky.
Best to do that at the end of the season, different cities each year. Would be better, slightly, in the fact that it wouldnt affect the outcome of the league, but it would get in the way of internationals (not that I really care about them to be fair).3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Knowing that cunt he'll make a rule so its vetoed for every club apart from us and we have to play in the middle of the sahara against a team of nomads in a game thats 1 minute long and they get a 57-0 head start and if we dont win we lose all our points.Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body.

Make no mistake this will happen and will become the norm in time with more and more matches being played abroad. If there's cash in it, and there is, then it will happen as money rules.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is good for LFC. It won't reduce the ticket price at Anfield., and if every club makes the same cash we won't be any better off than our rivals.
But the main thing is , its clearly a poor idea. liverpool play home matches at anfield and away matches at the home ground of the opposition. League matches don't have neutral venues. As for LFC fans abroad wanting to watch the reds, i'll be honest I don't care about them. Its nice when you're on holiday & you meet a Reds fan with no link to the city. I welcome their support and their cash via TV subs etc but that doesn't mean we should play a match in a stadium near you.
football in England maybe a global game. LFC may be a global club, but LFC operates for local people to support their local team. Nothing more, nothing less.AKA Heighway No9
