Cant be playing Crouch or Gerrard against Barnsley. No way.

Without those two in the side I think it may well prove quite a close game so I would start with them both. Crouch hasnt played much of late so he can handle it. I admit it is tempting to give Gerrard a complete miss for this one as with International fixtures etc he is due a break.

With agger out, and carra rested, do we risk sami and skrtel against barnsley?

Who plays CM with Lucas (if we're resting mascher, stevie and xabi)?

Barnsley IS still a game we have to win.

I'd tend to think that Xabi needs a game (or at least part of one - he has looked off the pace). He has been out of the team anyway so I would expect him to start.

Babel could be an option upfront. I guess it depends which fringe players we have faith in. If Insua plays LB for example then Riise should be fine on the wing against Barnsley otherwise Babel up front is robbing an option from elsewhere.

I agree with your sentiment that we need to send out a decent team and that we have to win.

Obviously in the context of being a Championship side, they're hardly carpenters and plumbers, however in the context of us and them, they're a walkover. You know what i mean.
